A few years ago I started a gratitude journal after hearing about the idea on an Oprah show.
I don't keep the journal anymore, but it helped me to develop a habit of looking for the things I'm grateful for at the end of each day.
Some days, I've simply been thankful that I was able to breathe and make it to the end. Most days though, even during this horrible time, I realize that I have too many blessing to even count every single day.
So, what are five things you are thankful for this Thanksgiving?
mine are: my children, my faith, northwest windy evenings by the fire, my friends and the chance to get to know who I am and who I want to be.
Next?

1) That no matter what happens to me in this life, I have eternity in Heaven to look forward to.
2) My children, and that they're both home for Thanksgiving with me.
3) My sight--to see all the pretty Christmas lights and sparkly things (I LOVE sparkly things!)
4) That I live in a free country.
5) My dogs who have been my best friends throughout all this, who love nothing more than to snuggle up against me at night, and who are thrilled to see me when I come home, whether I've been gone all day at work or just ran to the store for a few minutes.

Things I am thankful for:
1. My salvation and knowing no matter what happens, I have a mansion waiting for me.
2. To have my family supporting and loving me at this time.
3. That WH is getting off his fence and coming home, that though he is overseas, he is in a reasonably safe place.
4. For our troops, some of whom are our friends, for defending our country and making us safe.
5. God's love and mercy to me.
I could go on, but only get 5 today. HAPPY THANKSGIVING, MB's!!!

I am thankful for my daughter Paige, and that although she is with her dad today, she is happy and loved.
I am thankful for my sisters, and their children who I love and who are healthy and doing well.
I am thankful that I once had parents who loved me, each other and taught me the true meaning of love and loyalty.
I am thankful for my pretty little cat, Cocoa.
I am thankful for this board which keeps me from getting too lonely, and keeps me connected to what is most valuable in this world, people.

This is a great thread!
1. I am thankful for my two beautiful children. They make me smile everyday, and each time I realize how wonderful life can be.
2. I am thankful for my Mother, and her continued support throughout my life, and especially during this time.
3. I am thankful for my health. I am not only thankful for my physical health and the 33 lbs I have lost, but also for my mental health and my ability to get through the feelings of nope hope for life.
4. I am thankful for my friends and even my WH friends who have been supportive and understanding since August.
5. I am thankful for this BOARD! Without you all I would be lost.
6. Lastly, I am thankful for the wonderful times my WH and I spent together, and as a family.

You know what, I too have too many things to be thankful for to count. This has been a rough time for me, but I find myself giving God thanks for the time I have had with my husband, for my 3 beautiful children, for my caring parents and family, for my health, and that the lord, through this crisis in my life, made it clear to me that he was knocking, and that all I needed to do was answer the door. You can't believe what a difference this has made in me, to not be praying to the Lord only when the pain was too great to take, but to pray to him continually throughout my day, and thank him for the many blessings he has bestowed upon me, I do still include that I am glad for the time I got to share with my husband, and that God will soften his heart to me, and guess what?! That's working too....he has been coming over more for family activities, and spending the night with me.....he's even kissing me again. Have we worked out all our problems? No, we are still separated....but I now know he does still love me.
Happy Thanksgiving, and God Bless,
Caren

2) Family a. Mine is at odds w/ me over FWW but loves me b. Hers is fantastic to me, I feel so loved and not judged, etc. Her father paid me the nicest compliment I have ever received in my life yesterday. He simply said, 'I am proud of the man that you are.'
3) My Wonderful Wife a. She is back with me, keeping NC and we are going to work things out...
4) Friends a. that most have stood by me and supported me through this ordeal and shown their love for me and my wife in a wonderful way b. That I was able to weed out a few..

I too have more than 5 things to be grateful for but here's my list:
1) My beautiful daughters. They make my heart grow everyday, knowing they are in my life.Studying their sweet faces upclose is like looking at an angel here on earth!
2) Health.I always like to say:"If you have your health, you have everything". And I am so grateful that my children are healthy and that most of my family is too.
3) My Faith with God.God has really challenged me this past year but I think I am doing a good job of handling everything so HE will be proud.
4) Family and Friends.Their importance in life cannot be forgotten, ever.
5) Life.I am grateful for being alive and being able to enjoy so many things here on Earth.Smelling the flowers, feeling a breeze on my face, hearing the ocean waves, just being able to use my body fully when so many out there are disabled or seriously ill.
~Peace to All~

1.I am thankful for my faith and, knowing ultimately that is what helps me to forgive and wade through all the nonsense. 2.I am greatful, thankful and truly blesssed to have such a loving , kind intelligent daughter who is beautiful inside and out. 3.I am thankful that I have a very supportive though occasionally nutty family. A Quote from my father though wasn't sane for a moment but loves me dearly. "If I were terminal I'd kill him" Yes, I know that was nuts and he really wouldn't do it, But it's the thought that counts. 4.I am thankful for my Inlaws, who have been truly supportive. My friends who have listened. My Jack(dog)who loves me unconditionally (well other than the occasional hotdog)This message board. Who is helping to bounce these thoughts off of. 5.My school, which Thankfully I am doing well at that is with the exception of math(Although I'm not really thankful for the subject. I am for my professor, Who is a 67 yr old man w/ a picture of his wife tatooed(sp?)on his shoulder, who jumps out of airplanes and served his country~He makes the subjct matter tolerable -Oh and he dressed up like a Coors light beer can for Haloween ) [ November 26, 2004, 07:30 AM: Message edited by: artstudent04 ]
