Probably has something to do with Texas.

Actually,
It has happened to me before too, and I deleted all the cookies on my hard drive, and it seemed to be better after that. Try it and see. First log out, and close all your browser windows. Then open a browser, and delete all cookies. Then log in again, and I bet you stay logged in longer. At least it worked for me.

And by the way, hope you are doing really well, that things are wonderful, and that you are happy all the time.

It happens to me all the time too. It is worse from home than from my work computer - for whatever reason.

Don't know why Melody. Just suffice it to say you are not alone. I'm in the same boat. Yes, it's aggrivating.

Thanks Bob. See, I have a firewall [SEVERAL] but I don't have to log back in incessantly on my other forums. grrrrrrr

SS, you brat! We Texans should get our own forum!! I will try your suggestion and delete my cookies. Hope you are having a wonderful holiday, my friend.

Thanks for the feedback OG, cicada and Deja Vu, I figured I couldn't be the only one.

Well, guys I rarely have to log in even after rebooting. It keeps my login for some reason.

Now, my H is a technical whiz, as that is his profession. We just got DSL where we live (been using dial-up for a long time). He set it all up with a firewall, virus scan, etc.

Anyway, I don't know how it all works. I just wanted to say that I've been logged in for 2 weeks now. And the electricity even went off for several hours the other night. When I go back to my browser, I'm still logged in.

We did make a change, however, and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with anything. But we are using the new Mozilla browser by Firefox rather than Explorer. It is soooo much better. No pop-up ads and it works with tabs so you don't have to open up several browsers. The website is GetFireFox.com

Naivegirl,

Is that browser free?

I don't have too much trouble with explorer, but last time my little girl was home she saw a porn pop-up which was quite graphic, and upset her terribly. I have to find a way to proof our computer against those.

I also use Norton for security/virus safety, but the porn pop ups just started coming anyway.

I think it is free. And we like it so much better. It takes a little getting used to, but no pop-ups is wonderful. I told my neighbor to get it too. She had the same problem with some porn pop-ups. As did we, but I don't think our boys saw them, thank goodness.

Finally, MicroSoft has some competition. Once you open the browser, you select a new tab for each site you want to visit. Some links open up a new browser for you, but for the most part you work inside the browser and click between the tabs. The tabs are listed on the top of the browser.

I just checked the website. There is a link for a free download. Check it out. I think you might like it.

See, here's the reason I think it is a problem specific to THIS website and not a software issue. I don't have this problem on my other forums. I belong to 4-6 other forums and I NEVER have to log back in. I have been logged into some for YEARS!

But when I post one post here, I have to relog in!!

ML,

I'm not sure. I wish I knew what to tell you. Can you send a message to the guy who maintains this website? Or have you already tried that? I would be annoyed too if I had to login so often.

I think the MB server is in Minn. It's a Yankee server.

Probaby the other forum servers are in the south.

I only had the problem with this forum too. I haven't had trouble since I switched to firefox about a month ago.

I take it the cookie thing didn't fix it for you?
That really did work for me - and I had the problem from my home computer, and my work comuter both. But, as I said, switching to firefox fixed it, and I haven't had the problem since.

ML and SS,

I love it! Yankee server and a can of Texas whoop [censored]! Too funny! I'm in Mississippi.

That Yankee server may very well be the problem. And they think we are the backwards ones.
