Hi all, I am taking the lighter side of MB ... What are you planning to do this Christmas and NYE ? 12.24 - At home w/ 2D recovering from 6 days of Micky Land trip. 12.31 - This is my single week, I have not decided anything yet but I have options . -rh- [ December 16, 2004, 12:10 PM: Message edited by: redhat ]

Hey redhead, howzit?
12/24 - prolly trying to get my son out from in front of video games. My SO may be more successful than I because she's already tempted him with needing help making a bunch of holiday cookies. He likes to eat 'em and realizes that he better help in the kitchen.
12/31 - prolly trying to justify staying in front of football games.

I met w/ ur buddy JL & 2long. I guess I have to go to DC to meet you.
Me ? ... I doin ok on my finals. I am heading to Micky Land this Sunday. I am very cautious these days, exW & OM are havin a very rough time dues due OMexW was contacting exW to show that exW is livin a lie for the past 3 years. The telenovela is entering another chapter. I don't want to be in it and I lost interest even to watch 'em now.
How is ur R ?

12/24 - my little girl is coming home for the night and we are throwing a little dinner party. Then we will open gifts and play Texas Holdem and Tripoly. DD likes to pretend she is a waitress so she will have lots of fun too!
12/31 - well I have DD for the whole weekend so we will probably go to library and rent lots of movies and play with her new christmas toys. (and I imagine when people hear I am home on NY's eve I will be babysitting a few other kids as well )

12-24 - Typically, I have his parents, mine, etc. for dinner and gift opening..This year he basically told me I won't be seeing "his" parents. My Dad said he won't sit at the same dinner table as my WH...so what's a girl to do????
Going to my Mom & Dads...I'll take the dog w/me and possibly stay overnite..Let him sit home alone - unless, he finally found a Single OW..
12-31 - Going out for dinner/drinks/celibrating w/my cousin and her H..Which is what my WH and I do every year..We are getting hotel rooms so we don't have to worry about driving..It will just be 3 of us now..Oh well..his choice...What a way to ring in the New Year...Alone..But making the best of it...

ITHURTS, Good for you making the best out of the situation. HATE LOVE, 'common, there are tons thing you could do in BayArea. 12/24 Church what else, it is time to be religious . You should try it ... I went to my best freind's Catholic Church last year. 12/31 SFBayAreaMBers NYE. My favorite is NYE @ Hyatt. Free one would be at Embarcadero or at Jack London Squares. Plan ahead. -rh- [ December 17, 2004, 01:40 PM: Message edited by: redhat ]

redhat,
Great topic!
12/24 - HOME ALONE with hubby. All the kids are elsewhere for Christmas. This is usually a hectic stressed day because we drive an hour to my grandma's but with no kids around, we begged off. Quiet and peaceful. In fact, the whole week next week is KIDLESS.
12/31 - ALL the kids (four of them) will be here the week between Christmas and New Year's. H and I are both taking the week off and enjoying them. Some of them are bringing friends. It will be a house full. Movies, maybe ice skating, playing board games, who knows what we'll do?
I can't wait.

I 'spect I'll be plastering walls on 12/24, but doing some extended family thing at my BIL's in the evening. Still enough kids in that corner of the universe 2 cover the living room with multicolored paper and bows that evening, and again the next morning.
NYE, probably working on building cabinets in the kitchen. We should have our new stove and dishwasher by then, so they'll need a home!
These days, I hit the sack around 9pm on NYE. Probably wake up 2 explosions in the neighborhood around Noon AM, though.

turtlehead: I am a guy ... I need plans .
2long: Take it easy. Have you ask her to go out for a change ?. Christmas eve diner ?.
Pepperband: I am more economical (aka cheap ). I rather stay at neighborhood motel and extend my stay to 5 nights.

Hi redhat! I've been away for a long time but glad to read you sound really good! + worthatry!
I'm going to be home for the holidays, relaxing with the family. My oldest (OC) is now out living with roommates, but will be with us eating good food and sharing warm hugs & presents!
New Year's--making all kinds of resolutions that I might be able to stick to for a month! Especially in the "more workouts" category!

Can't spend 12/24 the way we have for the past 4 years, because the couple we celebrate with just finalized their D because she is having an A with her old HS boyfriend that lives way far away in another state . . . *sigh* . . . infidelity sucks.
12/31 will be spent WAAAAY different this year, as last year the day began with me taking FWH to the ER for his mental breakdown, afternoon was met with him confessing PA to me and me confronting my FBF about it, and ended with me crying myself to sleep in my aunt's spare bedroom ~ with FWH at a halfway house on suicide alert.
I believe this year I will simply bask in the wonderfulness that is NOT one year ago!!! How easy is that?!?!

Hi Redhat, Pepper, etc!
(Redhat, I mentioned your words of wisdom to me in a thread I just started, by the way!)
12/24 For the first time since 1999, my husband and I will be a married couple sharing a bed on that night. It will be a BEAUTIFUL Christmas Eve and day. (Actually for the first time since 1997 since in '98 the A had already begun and I was a mess!) The five of us in our family will be TOGETHER.
12/31 Same as the above except to add that it's a holiday season to truly feel blessed.
We're also taking a family trip this upcoming week.

Spider Slayer, We are not getting any younger ... like old saying the older the better ginger root gets .
hopeful_person, You make me blushing . You knew the answer and you just needed a bit confirmation.
I am happy for you and glad you share your blessing w/ all of us .
