I beleive your son deserves the truth, anything less is disrespectful. Is it possible for the two of you to see an IC or pastor who can help your son work through the fact his Dad is a liar? Sometimes a little objective help puts things in perspective.

I think if I were in your shoes I wouldn't want to have to explain to my child his father is pathological liar...I want a bit of back up!

The less your son knows about the suitation the better.

My FWH had an affair with a woman we go to church with. The OW told my 11 year old son she was sleeping with his father. My husband had moved out so when my son asked him he denied it. Our son knew his father was lying.

Since my husband has moved home it has been very hard for our son to forgive hime for what he put us thru. He was to young to ever know.

Kids know more than we think. My kids had everything pretty much figured out before i ever said anything. And there comes a point when you need to say something. I couldn't go on letting my DD think her dad was at work 24/7. However, I know my kids pretty well. They got information that fit their ages and temperments.

If you can do it, get your son into IC. My daughter has been seeing a counselor at her school. Of course he's going to angry. FWH deserves it. Time can heal a lot of things. I would think your most important goal is how your son deals with this for the rest of his life. It's the long run that's really going to matter. Your H has to repair his relationship with his son but you can help with the future.
