Ok, my 15th anniversary is next Thursday. I am already feeling sad and uptight about it. Anyone have any advice on how you got through that first anniversary since d-day?????

I think this is another reason I have been so emotional lately!

I think you should plan a very special day for your son and celebrate the anniversary that made him possible.
Make it a TR and son special anniversary day. You're in Orlando....do something Orlandoish
**edit**
Your son is old enough for some fine dining. Why don't the both of you have a fun day then dress up and go out to a really nice restaurant? If he asks why you're celebrating, just explain that if it were not for this day many years ago, your life would not be as joyful as it is now. And for you..yes, you are in pain and still in chaos an turmoil..but your son is joyful. He's the one thing keeping you anchored right now. Celebrate it! [ January 06, 2005, 12:28 PM: Message edited by: maddyk ]

Thanks maddyk...That's what I was thinking about doing. I thought I would take my son out to dinner and to a movie. It can be "mom and son" day from now on. I also just got a call from my mom......she wants to fly us home next weekend and then we're driving up to N.C. with my whole family and going snow tubing!!!!! I'm so excited! It will be so much fun!!!! I have the greatest family and I am so thankful for that!

Do something fun that you've never done before. Or give yourself a treat. Facial? Pedicure? Massage? A fun dinner someplace you've never been.
Start a new tradition!

Tree Take SS to Kennedy Space centre, and celebrate the occasion that made your son possible, as maddy says. Unless he's been a million times of course !
And allow yourself to be sad if you want, but don't pity yourself.
Your good times in the past are not invalidated by your nutty husband.

Bob and grapegurl...thanks....Yeah..we've been the ths kennedy space center...LOL! I'll figure something out. I know I will be sad because me and my WH would usually do something together. I'm going to try not to think about it...and just focus on my son. You are all so right....I will celebrate that day that made my son possible! Great idea!

I know - take a brunch picnic to Fort DeSoto park in St Pete beach, play on the guns and fort, and look for sharks teeth on the beach.
Then go to PJs oyster bar in St Pete Beach for the best crabcakes on earth and a laugh with your son. Oh dear Tree, I feel so bad for you hon. I really do.
Chin up hon, as KY says , it might rain chocolate

How ironic is this, I'm lurking, and Bob is quoting my sig.
Tree, I lurk at your posts often. I think about you, and I pray for your heart to heal.
I hope you make it through the 15th. It will only be as sad as you let it be. It is all about choices, chose to have fun, beat the misery that you could chose. Have fun, make a new memory.
Now, back to stalking, I mean lurking.

Thanks KY!!!! I guess the thing that is so hard for me is that last year we were planning to do something big for the 15th anniv. I guess all of that was a BIG LIE! I plan on taking everyone's advice and making it a special day for me and my son. I will choose to be happy!

TR,
Last July, was our fourteenth wedding anniversary. I didn't know if I should send him card or a little gift. I was in Plan B at that time, so I didn't do anything. I just sat home, order a pizza, watch my favorite team (Win!!) and just relax. If I hear from him alright, if I didn't I would survive.
I had no clue two days later a man will knock on my door and hand me Nevada DV papers. Happy Anniversary! I thought he still was in NJ.
Anyway, my WH and I always talking about renewing our wedding vows on our fifteenth. I guess thats not going to happen.
Just do what you want to do and make a special day with your son. Don't expect much from WH, if anything at all. Celebrate that you are a survivor and you have wonderful son to share your life with. Celebrate the blessings.
