Now I can't say if it's effective since I haven't done it, but I have seen a lot of members here recommend it and say it is. Someone should be able to answer this for you soon. I wonder, is it covered by insurance like face to face counselling is?

My insurance provider has a list of counselors I can choose from, so I'm doubting that it'd pay for it.....would be nice though.

I may set aside some of my income tax return to do it...it would be money well spent.

Ok - to answer a little bit, since I am not an expert on this subject, but do know a little.

I have done the phone counseling twice - will do it again as soon I have completed the assignment I was given last time.

You get to choose which you want - Steve or Jennifer. I believe they are equally good. Although Jennifer's hours were really better for me and my job and life, I chose Steve because I was hoping to eventually get my husband involved in the counseling sessions, and I believed that he would be more comfortable with a man than a woman.

I can't tell you yet if it has been successful, but a little bit has helped. He has given me advice on specific things to say and do to open up a line of communication with my H.

I am also dealing with a lawyer. The lawyer is $200 an hour, Steve is only $185. And, after all, I do not want a divorce. What I want is to save my marriage. Therefore, that should take precedence over the legal advice. (Although, in my situation, both are necessary.)

The bottom line is this: I can charge these sessions on my Mastercard and pay for them as I am able. I hate debt, and try to avoid it in all cases, but what price can I put on my marriage of 33 years? Is it worth a thousand dollars (approx.) of counseling? Or even 2 thousand, or more? You bet. Would I prefer a divorce that will cost me from $10,000 to $20,000? No.

If I am able to save my marriage (to quote credit card commercials) it will be PRICELESS!!
