Was talking to some of my neighbors last Thursday evening. The man downstairs..his wife left him and took their little girl with her. She denied an affair, but as he told me what had been going on in the last few months..well...it was pretty obvious that she was, indeed, in an affair.
I saw him outside last night and he was on the phone, but said that he knew for sure as he had caught her last night. I went inside, got my books SSA and Divorce Remedy and gave them to him. He was still on phone so we did not talk.
Today I went to the store and when I came back he was being led out of his apartment in handcuffs. No big fanfare--whatever happened probably happened last night.
I feel sooooo badly for him. I'm glad I gave him the books, but he is probably too raw right now to gain much solace from them. And I don't feel comfortable talking to him too much about all this...just because that could be a recipe for disaster, given our situations. She took the computer (she took EVERYTHING except one pot, one pan and a recliner)...so he can't log on here.
Don't really have a point or a question..I just feel so badly. I wish I were a guy right now so I could talk with him more freely.

So now begins the worst year of this man's life.
And his DD learns how from her adulturous mom how to act when she becomes a woman.

As if that knowledge is any comfort. [ January 09, 2005, 07:01 PM: Message edited by: Tom Joad ]

Awww that does suck, he's in jail? I tell ya what, I was on the fringe of going to jail there for a while, only God kept me from doing something hasty.
You are right to be cautious in this situation as you both have been hurt, but it might be nice to have someone to talk to. I also have a friend that is going through this same ordeal, but we are both so guarded it's probably amusing. We went out for pizza one time, and talked about our situations....he was so antsy I was amused. He was really scared his WW had followed him, I assured him a million times I didn't care if she did or not. He said "she may try to beat you up, to which I laughed....a lot" I said "Jason, she CAN'T beat me up, okay? Don't worry about me". We've only met that one time to talk, and both of us thought better of it. There's no attraction between us, but I understand the potential for disaster.

Caren, I don't *think* he's in jail, but I really don't know. I saw his blinds drawn tonight and the lights on, but it could've been his wife at the apartment...just not sure.
While I wish I could help him more by talking...I don't really know him well at all...only to say "hi" here and there. It would be best to not start a deep friendship with him.
