It was okay..it's a job!! But methinks I'm going to be bored silly!! I can only have H2O at my desk and it can only be in a water bottle that they provide!!! Cuz they have these fancy-schmancy touchy-screens.
The high school it's near, btw..is like..Bayside or Bayview. Right across from the jail complex--eek!!
I'm so sleepy..I haven't had to get up on a schedule in over two years now
FR, it's a temp-to-hire position. Full-time. I switched temp agencies and got a job in less than a week. I had been with my old agency almost the whole time I've been here and only had one job!!
If I'm hired on permanently, the pay is not enough to keep me at my apartment, but I'm looking into doing stuff from home as well. But it will have benefits which will be needed should I end up divorcing.
This is a medical supply company...like for diabetics. We call Dr's offices to verify certain information to make sure the patients are compliant and also call patients to verify their information and to remind them when it's time to reorder.
The environment is a little big for my taste. I would prefer to work in a smaller office and this place has...um...lots of folks. But again, it's a job and it's taken me a very long time to get one so I'm not complaining yet. Plus where it's temp-to-hire, it also gives me a chance to make sure that it's something I want to take on permanently.
I would love to have another get-together. The last one was really a lot of fun. I'm having a hard time getting in touch with faithhopelove , but most of the others who were at the GT are still around and posting. Plus there a few others that we've learned of. maybe we can drag Treereich down here too...it's not *that* far...only about and hour & 1/2.
You know, that's a pretty name and all but I'm just going to call you Ace for short OK?
Well, like my Pop always said ... "That's why they call it work! If it was fun you wouldn't be working. Then he would say afterwards ... "Find a job you like and you'll never work a day in your life."
Guess I've been lucky that way. Though I have done some "work" LOL.

Or at least a little peppermint schnapps to freshen your breath?
no coffee is the big problem. I'm a coffee freak. My therapist scolded me for drinking so much and ordered me to cut down since it can contribute to depression. Yeah, I cut down for about two weeks then resumed my previous consumption.
TJ..there are things that i love to do that I would be good at (writing namely), but I get horrified at the thought of doing that kind of stuff for a job. I really want to finish my engineering degree..like sooooooooo bad. Not only for the $$, but it's because it's just so damned logical!! If there's a mistake you can usually find it and fix it. I like that security!
Nods. My first choice would be aeronautical engineering, but that's a hard field to get into. Planes last a longggggg time, ya know?
Chemical is very good and you make lotsa $$, but it's academically very difficult. Electrical is also good, but is too abstract for me. I've been required to take electrical courses even though that's not my major and I did horribly in all of them. Civil engineering is kind of limited and not much $$. Biomedical is neat, but not my field of interest.
I'm going for mechanical. Lots to do, good $$. Academically difficult but doable. I've gotten throught the worst courses--namely Differential Equations. I swear I will SCREAM if they don't accept that credit and make me take it over again!!!
][ That close to graduating ME and had to stop & help family business. Planned to go back after 2 years - but didn't work out. Family business is doing well, I retained what I learned and gained some valuable business skills. Still love ME though. Hope you get to finish!
FR, i've got 75 credits..more than half way through.
All my Gen-Eds are done.
All my Physics is finished
All my Chem is done
All my Math is done.
All my basic engineering courses are done
Just the last two years...straight, upper level engineering courses. I have not been able to go for about 5 years now..not even sure all my credits are still usuable! I hope I cna finish too!
well stick to it Aislinn, if things work out just right, you'll finish in time to figure out how to fix the Crosstown Expressway
Personally, I never had chance to start my degree, was always waiting for WW to complete hers. That's another thing that burns me, but we'll save that for another thread...
Enjoy the H2O, and the lowered caffiene will do you good
