Weaver-
Girl, I'm toning my abs, and I'm getting a belly button ring too.........I've got the beginnings of a 6 pack, I don't want to be hella buff or anything, just nice and firm all over...I mean I'm skinny, but not all that firm. Getting my hair done again this week, my Mom is paying for it for my birthday, you can't really tell in the pic but I have red hair with huge blonde streaks through it. I love it...LMAO
I wish I could get sculptured nails, but that's against health code when working with patients....stoopid patients...LMAO
Oh BTW, My dad did well with his heart cath today, his heart is damaged they put 2 stints(Sp?) in (which makes a total of 7 stints)he is also diabetic, and his kidneys are only functioning at 50%. He has to go to Cardiac Rehab 3 times a week, and they are talking about possibly implanting a pacemaker. The surgeon also said that it was difficult to do the cath because his arteries are hardening.
*sigh* but he's out of the woods for the moment.

You seem like an attractive woman. Why on Earth would you do that? Do you want to be like 95% of the women at the beach? And Pallez---- no tattoos! Be yourself, do not follow the crowd. IN fact, I suggest you only use one earring in each ear. This is not the time to make yourself like everybody else---- be original-------- your H will admire that a whole lot more! Don’t do anything crazy--- don’t mutilate your body!
Sorry if I sound too conservative, but it seems that nowadays most woman are into mutilating their bodies-------- not a good thing!

Having 7 stents in your body with a poor functioning heart and having diabetes in not a great combination. I kind of question why they would put a pacemaker in...is he having heart block? If not, then I wonder if this Invasive Cardiologist (not a surgeon by the way )is al little driven by the almighty dollar here. Maybe you meant defibrillator and not pacemkaer?...that would make more sense. Either way, good luck.

Since WH has been with OW she has gotten her tounge and belly-button pierced, and a tattoo. He likes that, so she did it. Sorry, this is MY body, and I am not going to put holes in it so I 'look good' for anyone! I have thought about getting my belly button pierced once I loose more weight, but I don't think I would ever do it. It is HARD, and I mean VERY HARD not to see what the WH likes in the OW and try and do that to yourself. If you see she wears Express, and you know your WH would like that, YOU go buy Express in an effort to please him. In the long run you just loose who 'you' really are. (I AM IN NO MANNOR SAYING THAT THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE DOING). Just making an observation. Danielle

Which men think women look good with tattoos and pierced tongues and navel? Hmm!
How could permanently mutilating one's body be attractive?
One earring per ear please------ no more!
BTW, do not dye and perm your hair thousands of times so it looks like hay.

Caren,
Just a heads-up about the piercing. I got my bellybutton done (at age 41, after losing a substantial amount of weight and getting into good shape). I found out that only 1/2 of the people who get it done, end up keeping them. Most people reject them or get infected so badly that they have to come out. They take a good 6 months to a year to completely heal. Mine never got infected. I change mine to match my outfits, and I have over 20 of them now! So, good luck if you get it done!
I also got a small tattoo when I kept the weight off for a year. It's on my lower back-very tasteful and really just for ME.
Stan,
Ooh, I'm so surprised at how conservative you sound! LOL. You'd never know about my bellybutton or tattoo if you saw me, UNLESS it's the summer, then it's a whole 'nother ballgame! I did it for me, as a reminder of how much I accomplished. Funny, my DH didn't want me to get either done, but when it was done, he *loved* it!!!

Caren,
I'm glad your dad came thought things okay. I know it's a bad combination to have heart issues and be diabetic. My sis is insulin-dependent diabetic and is on medication for very high cholestoral. She's only in her mid-30's so she doesn't have heart problems yet, but I think about it with her. Seems to be a common effect. Hopefully these latest stents will help your dad.
Weaver,
Yes....I'm listening. I've been buying clothes all along (it's a weakness of mine) so can't afford to go do a new wardrobe. I'm not sure the XH really did anything to me that causes me to be so self-conscious--it's more what he didn't do with me, and what he kept pointing out in all the women on the street, on tv. etc. In fact it's what the world seems to be focused on nowadays. But that's a topic for another post.
And to all those who said women shouldn't get tattoos, all I can say is "uh oh, it's a little to late for that advice."
I got a butterfly tattoo on my lower back (and it's not small) two days after my XH slept with the OW for the first time. It was, perhaps, rebellion of sorts. But it was just something I wanted...for me...to represent beauty and freedom and happiness and all the things that a graceful butterfly brings to mind as it flutters by.
I would never as a woman get a tattoo that I couldn't cover with my work clothes. This one only shows if I'm in my swimsuit or if I bend over and my shirt creeps up a bit at the back waist.
I think small, tasteful navel rings are kind of cute, too. I'm just not going to get one myself.
I guess you could look at it as mutilation. I didn't. (And I do only have one pierce hole in each ear).

Women with tattoos above the rear end, pierced navels, and a zillion holes in the ears are a dime a dozen and IMHO doing the wrong thing to be attractive or different. To me they are just “monkey see, monkey do†types who do not have a concept about what natural beauty is all about.
None of my four daughters have tattoos and my son does not wear earrings. They look pretty normal to me and I am proud to say they don’t follow the crowd.
BTW, all my daughters have gotten temporary tattoos in the summer. They last a few days and they are fun.
Have you seen 40 year old tattoos in elderly retired sailors---------- not a pretty sight.
What if you like your tattoo today and hated in three years. Why do something permanent like that?
I think women do this sort of thing because other women do it. Most men I know don’t care for that stuff.
Just my 2 cents
BTW, I am quite liberal

Caren- I got a tatoo at the age of 17 and I hate it. I would love to have it removed. It is on my left ankle and quite honestly I forget I have it most days- until someone asks what is that? IF I could go back and not have it I would- However if I had a great stomach to show off (mother nature was not so great with me- stretch marks ) I might get a belly ring as well- something less forever. However you could get the body art and just get some fake stuff put on on special occasions!

Stanley,
I didn't get the tattoo just to follow a crowd. In fact, if you research the art of tattooing, you'll see that it definitely represents individualism. I chose mine to celebrate my weight loss and my maintenance for over a year. When I look at it (and keep in mind, it's small and you can't see it unless I'm in a bathing suit), I'm reminded of what I accomplished (even though I'm up 15 lbs. right now! LOL). I NEVER entertained the thought b/c other people were doing it. I'm not inclined to EVER follow a crowd. In fact, I pride myself of being ahead of crowds as far as current fads go. When you see teens attracted to it, it's already overwith, IMO.
The bellybutton ring was also a celebration for me. Again, I did it for myself. I don't go parading around with it hanging out. It's hidden, pretty much. If I stop liking it, I could let it close up, but for now it's a symbol of my accomplishments and it makes me proud to see it.
P.S. Tattoos CAN be covered over or lazered off. Painful and time-consuming, but it can be done. I think I'll appreciate my little tattoo until I'm 90!

Yup too late in the tattoo department for me too....about 5 or 6 years too late...LOL
I have a small snake on my left shoulder, again like the others, you can't see it unless I want it to be see (or in a bathing suit) I plan on getting it re-done, and getting an Anhk tattoo on my lower back. I love tattoos......I like 'em on guys and I think they look cute in certain places on girls.
I also think belly button rings are cute on girls.....all this I would be doing for me, because I think it looks good.
I freaking LOVE a guy with tattoos...and I don't know why. My WH has a scorpion on his lower left calf (it's pretty big) one on each arm and a tattoo on his left shoulder that says "Caren and WH" his name and my name both in overlapping purple hearts. LMAO I hope the OW hate is...Mwah ha ha!!!!

Caren -
I wanted to add to the chorus of people here that say your WH is a moron! You are truly a beautiful woman.
Also, my WW had her belly button pierced - I love that on women. I am not a big fan of tattoos, though. Too permanent....
This thread motivated me to email my pics to the MB photo album....

Caren,
Don't let my bantering with RH scare you off. He is like my bro' and I always watch out for him when he gets out of line. LOL!!! Just kidding. He is a gentleman in every respect of the word. Even my H likes him, in a brotherly way of course.
