I have ordered so many books recently from amazon.com on affairs, divorce, infidelity etc. that when I log on and go to their recommendations all I get are more books on infidelity, affairs etc.

It's ok MIF.The same thing happens to me about Science.Whatever you are accustomed to buying,I think the site automatically suggests areas/titles that are similar the next time you log on.Sort of like keeping their own little history on you.
Maybe you could start researching some other books for a change? How about: Mysteries,Dogs,Planes,The Military,Medicine,Cooking,etc? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

I know. I think they go by what you purchased, and what you have looked at. I just thought how depressing my life has become that amazon even knows my life is in turmoil right now.

They are the least of your worries but I know what you mean. One day you won't be needing those books anymore.Mine are stashed away in my basement.I no longer have a need and so I may just donate them to the library for other's to be able to use. They served their purpose and I am involved with other books now.
A couple months ago I finished reading, "The Hunt for Zero Point" by Nick Cook. If you like Science/Physics and "UFO's" you might enjoy this one,it's a nice departure form Infidelity.

MIF?,
If you clear your cookies this might go away. But you have to log out of Amazon first - and they make that hard to do.
Mine comes up and says "Sign in to get personal recommendations".
From the first page, click on "your account", then on that page click "Learn how to use your account", then about the 8th item in the second column in the blue-boardered box on the left, there is "signing out" - click that. Then you will get to a page that actually has a button labeled "Sign out". Click it.

Close your browser, bring up a new one and clear your cookies. Close that browerser. Go back to Amazon and ... you will no longer see any recomendations.
