I very recently ordered, "His Needs, Her Needs" from this site. If you are looking for a great resource, this is one! I've only had time to read a few chapters so far -so many things make real sense to me and help me understand how we got to where we are AND how to fix it. Hope my WH wants to read it, too, as I can only act upon the "His Needs" chapters...

I would say most people here have read HNHN, SAA, and LB's.
If not, they should.
Keep on reading. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

VSN, there is no substitute for the book...but if your husband is not willing to read it, would he be willing to read here at the site? Some folks will do that before they'll read the book (my husband is) so if he's a computer guy, maybe he'll read here?
again, no substitute, but something is better than nothing!

Yeah, I've read HN/HN, LB's, and SAA...all good books.
This site is a good resource.....there's no way I could get my WH to read either of these things....but that's okay, at least the ENQ will be required for reconcilation.

Hi verysad- Yes that is a great book. I really liked Surviving an Affair too because it had solid strategy advice in it. During my H's affair I gave him a Harley book to read but he threw it in his trunk- he was so smitten still with OW he wasn't up for any relationship repair. I didn't give him Harley's book SAA book because I thought he might think I was scheming against him. He did read it later though when a counselor asked him to. Another book that is similar to "His Needs Her Needs" is "The 5 Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. I found that very useful and I got H to read it about a year past d-day. ( I gave it to him as a Valentines day gift which was also our d-day anniv.- yikes!) For understanding very involved emotional affairs and what the different types are and chances of recovery I like therapist Emily Brown's books. She wrote one for marriage counselors that I read that was very in-depth- it describes something called a split-self affair which described my H"s mid-life crisis affair to a T. Can you tell I spent ALOT of time in Starbucks reading??? I was a jounalism major in college and I also believed that knowledge is power. Take care- Nancy ( LIM)

Nancy,
Seems like we have a lot in common. I'm 39, I have 3 kids (although much younger as we started late) and I think my WH is going through a mid-life crisis of some kind. I guess that makes 2 of us in crisis. Thanks for the additional book suggestions!
