Tonight on The Simpsons, Marge had a sort of EA. The part I liked least was when Homer was rushing to the airport to stop her, and he said, "I have to keep her from being happy!"

Yowch.

Lenny and Carl, Homer's pals at the nuclear plant, actually used the term "emotional affair".

Hi GC,

I don't watch that show but did just see "Sideways" at the movie theatre.Don't know if you saw it but it was more of the same BS that probably floats around out there in society regarding relationships.Makes me want to hibernate in my home.

O, I did see Sideways. I thought the characters were believable, and the women were interesting, but I was lukewarm on the picture. The guys were a-holes and I didn't care what happened to them.

Actually, The Simpsons often handles these kinds of subjects with a surprising morality.

Marge even said something like, "I took a vow and I'm not about to break it."

GC, amazing you mention the Simpsons. You probably missed my post on Idiotville. heck, that thing goes so fast everyone misses everyone's posts.

Rob had to leave the room when Homer nearly has the PA with the country singer. It was all over Rob's face - HE STOPPED before it went too far, why didn't YOU?

The Simpsons is a whole lot more than a little yellow cartoon family and it always has been.

I saw the previews for "The Simpsons" but didn't watch. Sometimes it so hard to watch tv these days, especially the "The Lifetime Channel" where it seem every TV movie is about infidelity. Last night, TNT had "Unfaithful" on, I started to watch but had to turn the channel.

Society seems to accept affairs today. It is so sad. I remember a few days ago there was a post about famous people who were in affairs or affect by affairs. Years ago a star who had an affair (and the public found out) could not find work; today it does not matter for example Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lopez. Maybe soon we will be adding Brad Pitt's name to that list. You can't believe everything you read though, but where there is smoke there must be fire.

The simpsons is one of the best adult programs out there IMO. The way its has always handled the issue of infidelity for example have been touching and true.

I agree where homer has an EA with that counry singer, ALSO when he feels inexorably drawn to having an affair with his beautiful counterpart worker at the power plant.

Best of all was when Marge fell into an EA bordering on PA with her bowling instructor lothario.

Sensitively handled, yet still funny. Its an awesome program.

The episode when Ned & Homer go to Vegas and find themselves married was a funny one too !
