Shul, in justforme's thread you said :

If I have learned one thing in my life, it is that as we forgive, God heals the memories, even erases them.

Next time the thoughts and pictures come to your mind, say out loud , "Lord, I choose to forgive him for that."

Think of it as cancelling a debt, writing "cancelled' across a bill...

Not only will you forget, but you will find that you feel love for your husband, in a greater way. You will want to pray FOR him.

I have started out sometimes really feeling hurt and bitter about something, telling God how much I hurt, and an hour later I am pleading with God to have mercy on my husband, and not to hold it against him on my account.

I have forgotten things that I thought I would never forget, never heal from. They are gone. They have no power over me anymore.

That is the most uplifting and hopeful thing I have read in ages. I have been praying how the pictures and triggers would go, and you have answered me.

Thank you. I PRAY for my forgiveness to lead to blessed forgetfulness.

All blessings.
