It's ALWAYS WAT's fault. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
That was even Pep's sig line for a day or two a while back (which I started BTW). I can't even remember what it was that was his fault that time. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
Amazing thread going there - didn't want to tj it again.

Yea, I'll take responsibility for much of it.
Not what I intended, BTW. I think I'll retire from that sandbox.
So, Jen - it's winter up here and I like to cook in a crock pot (slow cooker) since it's usually too cold for me to grill. Got a good recipe for crock pot lamb? Of course, first I need the lamb, so what should I look for? I have to admit I've only had it a few times in my life, so I'm impressionable.

Hi WAT <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
I never use a crock pot. I've often thought of getting one but it would mean I'd have to be organised in the morning to set it going before I leave for work.
The thing to look for is young, spring New Zealand lamb. LOL
I would never crock pot a leg of lamb but lamb shanks (sort of legs but smaller) are wonderful done in a rich gravy. I cook them on the stove top for a couple of hours.
Eww, just the thought of eating big hot meals right now in this heat. LOL

Crock pot is good for meats that need to be cooked slow to get tender - which, come to think of it, doesn't include lamb?
I like to do baby back pork ribs - cut into pieces to fit the pot, cover them with your fav grilling sauce and cook on low for minimum 8 hours. Maybe throw in onion slices between the rib pieces. Yummy! Yes, gotta get organized, but the payoff is worth it!
Tough cuts of beef work well, too. They really tender up. Cover with a can of cream of mushroom soup and maybe throw in potato slices and baby carrots. Cook on low for 8 hours.
Seems everything takes 8 hours. Maybe shorter in the southern hemi? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

I love the crock pot. Great for my fav stew. About 4 hours using cut beef tips, wheat beer and veggies. Add a little flower at the end and it is just wonderful.
I do my chili in the crock pot also, o yeah baked beans too. And yes, pulled bbq pork.
I guess I would use the crock pot for chicken nuggets too except they would be soggy instead of crisp (kids hate soggy LOL).
I love the slow cooked stuff and I love our crock pots.
Now I gotta go to the store and get something to cook. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="images/icons/cool.gif" />
P.S. Sorry for the thread jack but the words crock and pot make my belly take over my head.
