Are our stressful infidelity-ridden lifes affecting our immune systems or is it just a bad, bad year for sickness. Every time I turn around somebody in my life or on this forum is sick. DS has a sore throat. WH has a bad cold after doing an intestinal thing after doing a respiratory thing. Even Orchid's son in Hawaii has the 102 degree fever.

Personally, I've been coughing, sneezing, congested, achey, sore throated or fevered intermittently since early December. I feel like a Nyquil commercial.

What the heck is going on? Is everybody sick?

Well, I can just tell you that I am just getting over the flu after not having been sick for 6 years! I never get sick and was in bed with this flu for 3 days. My DH had it over the weekend and is still terribly sick. We have a terrible flu bug making the rounds in east Texas.

I can tell you this - about 70% of the people that come into ER every night have the flu. It's bad this year.

I think it's just that season for that kinda thing, although I think stress does wear down the immune system.....lord, that's all I need is to be sick.

Interesting thought. I'm just getting over my second really bad cold this winter; last one must have been 5 yrs ago. I'm sure stress wears down the immune system. The aftermath is a cough that sounds like I've got SARS. Yuk. TT

My stepson was in the Green Zone in Iraq until a week ago. They shipped his unit, the 1544th, to Kuwait. I hope yours can come home soon.

Of course stress affects your immune system.I just got over the Flu myself a week and a half ago.Temp of 104!,basically didn't get out of bed for 4 days straight. It's that time of year.

I just try to keep eating well, sleep well and take my mutlivitamins.Lots of water too.
