My beautiful DD turned 13 on Saturday! Gave her a party w/many friends and she had a great time. WXW and her family did not attend - and did not respond to invitation.

DD has had 2 counseling sessions with a female/christian neuro-psychologist (NP) who has known our family for 6+ years. Note: DD desired "a woman, who is a christian". NP is very familiar with family as WXW and I took in & cared for a niece who had been brain-injured in a car accident 6 years ago. NP was one of nieces "saviors" bringing her from near-incapacitated to a loving and lovely young Mom and wife today! NP was highly surprised to hear of our D as she says we were one of her "special-families", frequently using us as examples for other families of brain injured kids.

DD told NP at least session: "My Mom is not my Mom"!!! DD had previously come to me with tears in her eyes and said the same thing. It was a heart-break to see and hear DD say this and quite emotional I might add. I was caught by surprise and basically validated DD's feelings - hugging her and even shedding a few tears myself! DD told NP that she realizes her M is "committing adultery" and "committed adultery before she D'ed my Dad". They had a very good talk and DD also made some drawings to illustrate her feelings to NP about WXW, OM, OMW and me. DD told NP her M "is in a fog"! (Thought all of you might get a kick out of that one!!!)

After last session; NP came out and informed me that she "needs to see WXW at DD's next appointment" which is this Wednesday. DD desires to tell WXW axactly how she feels about all that has happened and is happening w/NP there for support. Given that NP remembers WXW fondly from before A; this should prove to be an interesting meeting.

So; for you BS's who wonder what and how to say to your kids about A; I basically talk about WXW's actions-only and am careful not to "bash" WM. It is a fine-line making sure that DD maintains her morals and beliefs without incriminating WXW. NP keeps telling me to continue exactly what I'm doing but realizes that it's a very sensitive situation. So continue the good fight, do not "bash" WS's and maintain faith for your young-ones!

I'll let you know how the session goes on Wednesday!

Good job.

Yep, we should never bad mouth our wayard or x-spouses to our kids. It ruins the moment when they figure it out on their own.
