Hi, I'm an "oldtimer" who is coming out of the woodworks to ask for help. I know there are a lot of faithful, wonderful people here.

Yesterday, we lost our sweet cousin. She is 19 years old and battled cancer for the past 1 1/2 years. Please, please pray for her and her parents and her brother who have such a road of grief ahead of them. Pray that the Lord gives them strength and peace somehow.

Thank you so much.

Ark and dyinghere, thank you .

It is her parents and brother that I am worried about now, they are absolutely devastated. She was in a lot of pain, and of course now we hope she is in eternal peace.

I just hope God helps them through this, and hope that the more prayers He hears the more His Grace will be felt.

I'm sorry I missed this thread. How are you doing? Do you live near them?

I lost my best friend of 20 years to cancer just last week. It's so hard; I can hardly see the light of day. I try to think of things to make it better, but have come up dry. The hugs have been nice. I think I just need to cry for a good while.

I wish you and your grieving family some peace - Dru

Ark, yes, I'm hoping they will definitely seek some support in a bereavement group, or such. I know they have no choice but to go on, but the heartbreak is so raw at this point...They are very involved with their church, so hopefully that will help. Thanks for your kind words.

Hi Dru, I am so so sorry to hear of your loss. I will keep your friend, and you , in my prayers. We live far away, but the family is very small, so we are close. My kids love these cousins so much. Honestly, I still don't really believe it. I stayed home with the kids, but my h, and his parents, sister , brother, all flew out there to go to the funeral. We knew the end was near for a while, but I think we all were hoping/expecting a miracle......

Anyway, I hope you are well, and take good care of yourself especially now. {{{{{{{{{{Dru}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} nice to hear from you.

Hi Weezy,

I know what you mean; I cant believe she's gone and I'll never see her again. I'm reading a book on Grief, the Grief Recovery Handbook. Mostly speaks to how most of us are unequiped to deal with trauma/grief, and in dealing with unresolved issues with the deceased.

Grief Recovery Site

I cant say it's made me all better, but I get the sense that I'm not insane, at least. I'll take what I can get at this point.

Take care of yourself! - Dru
