OK I hope this doesn't make me sound like some bitter old unattractive hag LOL
I was in the supermarket today around noon. And there was this 20-something woman just buying a couple of things (probbaly on her lunch break). I couldn't help but notice she was dressed pretty darn spiffy for the middle of the day:
gold sparkly sweater, black mini skirt, sexy black and gold stiletto heels. I was wondering: sheesh is she STILL out from a Valentine's date? Or does she dress like that for work? So I was thinking no wonder there's so much adultery with young females in what's supposed to be a professional work environment dressed like they're on a manhunt. Then after she left the store I chided myself for sort of being so suspicious and bitter. I told myself I must have been a little mistaken or too prudish - she probably wasn't dressed too provacatively for the office. But she was parked right next to me and I got another look at her and she really was way too snazzed up for daytime to not be up to something. And I couldn't help wondering if she was helping to destroy a marriage and family by flaunting her youthful charms in front of some old fool at the office.
Anyway, just a rant... LOL

Hmm Meremortal I had an important meeting in London yesterday. And I dressed to impress - jeff banks suit, nice shiny shoes, silk tie, my best light blue egyptian cotton shirt. Hugo Boss aftershave,a very neat short goatee shave, clufflinks, stick pin " when I go by I'm gonna do you in ! "( ZZtop - sharp dressed man, remember ? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> ) I looked GOOD and felt GOOD and professional. Was I up to something ? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Probably not.
I was at the store to pick up a prescription of the anti-depressant I'd been out of for a few days. So it was probably just that.
I might be going back to work soon so what appropriate office attire would be has been on my mind lately too. I quit my career 20-some years ago (to be stay-at-home wife/Mom) and now need to start building a work wardrobe again. When I was working before there was never any reason for me to dress that the gal in the supermarket was dressed though - not for anything in the daytime anyway. For one thing sparkly sweaters are itchy and stiletto shoes just hurt too darn much to wear at the office all day LOL. When I look at clothes in catalogues I'm thinking about which outfits would work for work (comfortable and attractive - but not in that going out to a nightclub sort of attractive). And fending off the unwanted advances of married co-workers was enough of a problem without wearing a black mini skirt to work! I mean in the career I had I was expected to actually get some work done and not just look pretty LOL It was already too much of a distraction having to dissuade the office romeos when I was covered in grey wool suits. I simply was too busy in my career to have to bother with the sort of reaction that gals outfit would have stirred up!
Anyway, bet you looked pretty snazzy. It CAN be done appropriately without looking like you're open for business of a different sort...

come on bobpure... all of us women have read in Glamour or Marie Claire... the proper day to evening wear.... Maybe she worked in a bar or a clothes shop ?
