As a BS, one of the ways I get through this big mess is to try to keep my sense of humor. I'm sure we all have these little things we do give us some illusion of control. Kind of like Bob Pure calling his wife Squidy. For my part, WH's special ring on my cellphone is the "Cuckoo Waltz". When WH calls, it reminds me that he IS cuckoo right now.

Anybody else have any subtle way to keep your sanity?

GG,

Cuckoo walts. LOL!!! Tooo funny!!!

I hate the nextel ring on H's phone and his walkie talkie ring. His cell voicemail msg was how I found out. YUCK!!! I hate those things.

Humor is essential to personal recovery. Any recovery but it to has it's place. Too much is not good but some is ok.

Being balanced is important. Not thinking too highly of ourselves is also helpful. Knowing there is always more we can learn and knowing where to put our trust is vital to survival.

Establishing a good support group and knowing ourselves well has been key for me.

Praying for a clear mind and a calm heart while waiting for the 2 to sync up along with lots of patience proved a worthy opponent against the A. With those tools and MB I have stood strong.

I had to find humor in this A. It was just tooo stupid t/b real. In reality it wasn't real, just some dumb aliens trying to land in my back yard. They stole my H's soul for a while but we fought hard and they spit him back out on our front lawn. LOL!!!

Musta not liked the bitter BS after taste of truth. LOL!!!

Truth prevails. Families survive.

Just my 2 cents. I think I'm underpaid. LOL!!!

L.

Too funny Grapegirl.
My cell phone ring for my WH is "playground music". It just reminds me that he is playing around with so many lives! My friends hear the ring and we all laugh and mock it in unison. LOL
We have to find a way to laugh through all of this h@ll that we're in.
I also call my WH Dingaling and the OW..The Maggot! LOL

The one thing that helped me keep it together during this whole mess (and still does) was going to church. I was able to find such peace and hope when I was there. Now FWH and I go to church together as a family and it is helping to strengthen our bond.

Sorry Bob! I thought you started it on the board. My WS is a gelantous, walleyed, simple organism with limited vision, no memory and grasping tentacles who floats with the tide. It could fit him...

"That's no squid! That's my wife!"

Somebody should start a thread on funny nicknames.

Oh that's funny ggirl. You're very clever you know.

Usually I have a good sense of humor but I can't think of any funny names for either of my ex's, only name which are unprintable. Humor aludes me when I think of them.

I cope by constant slicing of the OM's tires. j/k...

Humor...working out. Anything that keeps me sane and fit. I found just working out is a great stress reliever.
