Ok...I posted this on another thread but am very curious to hear some feedback so I started a new thread. Why is he projecting his garbage on to my son? He's the one that should be looking in the mirror everyday and repeating what he's asking my son to repeat. UUUGGGHHHHHH! This just makes me sooooo mad! What do you think??????
"hey DS, here is the little prayer you and I say along with "now I lay me down to sleep" each night before falling asleep. "Daddy loves me and Mommy loves me forever and always. I beleive in God and I am filled with courage and strength, love, kindness and happiness. I will always be responsible for my own actions and respectful and honest to others." Each time we learn and talk about other virtues and values we will continue to add to our prayer :-) I'll see if I can stop by to give you a hug before I go to my game to pitch. Love dad"

Hey TR,
He looks like he is trying to sugar coat his abhorrent behavior. He thinks that Cam will think Dad actually values these things, but I think your DS will see that you STBX is nothing but a hypocrit. (did I spell that right?)
DS might not realize it now, but the seeds are being sown that his dad is a creep.

Geeze louise, that is one sorry a$$ prayer. Motto, maybe. Declaration? Creed for living? Dumb, dumb, dumb.
I'm a novice at praying and I can do a whole lot better than that. Do you do church? Can you talk with your son about the proper way to talk with God? As near as I can figure about, you don't tell God, you don't pronounce things to God. You ask for forgiveness, for strength, for help and for God to take the lead.
How about this: "Dear God, Thank you for the gift of my daddy's and mommy's love. Please make this love a common ground to help them to sort out their love for each other. Please fill me with strength, courage and love. Help me to find happiness that is according to your grace. Teach me to be responsible for myself and others. Let my actions and words be in line with your laws. Help me to grow into a man of virtue and honesty. Lead me along the paths of righteousness. Please take me in your arms and give me safety from the world around me. In the Lord's name I pray, Amen."
Put it in 8 year old boy-speak and try it.

Oh Tree, my poor brave Tree....how do you keep from splitting his head wide open with a sledge hammer??
He is the biggest a-hole I have ever seen in my entire life....what is that horse crap he's feeding your son?!? OMG what do you say to your son?
I mean I have to explain a lot to my DD10 about her Dad when he's just saying stuff like "Don't you miss Daddy?" Or when he acts like he did Saturday I just say "Honey, Daddy's just scared, that's why he's acting that way"...but I really don't know what I'd say if he were saying that stuff.....I know I couldn't be nice to WH that's for daggone sure.

Tree,
I can only imagine the utter horror. Well I am getting a little taste of it myself now.
My DD's dad is quite a bit like your WH. I separated from him when I was pregnant because of his affairs, tried to make it work after she was born and then decided it would destroy me so I took my baby and left.
I then spent the last 10 years bending over backwards so he could be in her life, so we could be friends, blah, blah blah. Never evened sued him for child support. Can you believe it. Even willingly gave him joint custody a year and a half ago.
I have never regretted anything so much in my life.
I have created a monster, by my wishy washy stupidity.
He has been summoned to court in two weeks for clarification of what "joint decisions" regarding my little girl means, but I have not slept hardly at all since realizing the depths of his lowness.
Don't make the same mistake's I made Tree. This man is an arrogant, self-ritious, pompous, pr@ck! Just like my DD's dad.
I really, really feel for you.

Tree
Your H needs to do a f'k sight more than that to earn your son's respct.
I would make sure that Cam knows the true situation: * Dad chose to leave us for Frenchie * he chose to not financially support us * he chos eto not emotionally support us * His every communictions tries to make US support HIM. * I suggest we try to help daddy understand the problems h eis causing us.
all blessings

Grapegirl...yes, we do go to church. I make sure my son knows that what his dad is doing is wrong. It's so confusing to my son to hear all of this crap from my WH. I like your prayer so much better than that garbage my WH says.
Caren...LOL...I've thought of that sledge hammer many times. My WH isn't worth my time. He's a pathetic man!!! I hope he gets what he deserves one day.
weaver...I plan on getting all that I can from my WH. I refuse to bend! If he doesn't want to agree to my terms then I guess he'll just be married to me until he does. I WILL NOT sign the DV papers until I get what I want.
Bob...yea...I do talk to Cam and let him know that his dad is the one that chose this life. I talk to him everyday and let him know that I will not leave him and that I will always be here for him.
I actually offered for my WH to switch nights this week so that he could spend his (WH) b0day with Cam. He said no thanks, I'll just celebrate with him on Wed. (the day before). I personally think that's pathetic that he would rather spend his b-day with the OW instead of his son. PATHETIC excuse for a man!!!!

I understand your frustration. While reading your first post, I too felt the indignant anger rising...
How about sending him a little note of your own?
Dear WH,
I read the prayer note you left for DS. I love the idea and think it would be great if you not only gave him the words, but also set an example with your actions. The poor child is getting confused.
Love, TR

Dewt, a most excellent idea. If TR wasn't in Plan B and staying very very dark.
Also have to remember, that as painful and inconsiderate as his actions are TR's STBX may just be trying to illicit a response from her. Whether he consciously is aware of that or not.
TR reinforce those values in your DS, and as Dewt says - not just in words but in actions. Unfortunately TR you have to be the Mommy and the Daddy now. Your STBX is just a big kid who wants his icecream NOW! to heck with everyone else. But all WS are that way, inconsiderate, selfish, hurtful people.

dewt... I would love to send him a note saying that but like TJ says...I'm staying very dark. I don't even have the energy to talk to him. He's truly not worth my time.
TJ... You are right...I am mommy and daddy right now. I had a long talk with DS last night. It was good. He doesn't even understand what he says in that prayer. He said he just repeats it with his dad. I seriously wish I could tell WH to say that prayer to himself ,looking in the mirror 100 times.
