The reason I ask is that I'll be in the city this Thurs thru the weekend. Don't want anyone to give up their prized anonymity. Really just wanted to get some restaurant recs. I travel to NYC every so often so I have my favs but wanted to hear from the local "New Yockers."

Hi CW,

Now I am not a NYer. Been there only once a loooong time ago. The place I found different and fun was Juniors in Brooklyn. It had a huge menu varied by dishes from all around the world. It was fun. But it was in a not so nice side of town. The waiters were really nice but that was over 25 years ago.

It was a unique kind of restaurant. I would go there again. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

BTW, I don't like NY style pizza. LOL!!!

Anyone from the Garden State who occassionally crosses the Hudson for an evening out in the city?

NGU/MrsX- you're from NJ I think. Give me some ideas here.

CARMINES - on ?38th? near Broadway is good. We had an MB get together there Christmas of 2002.

You might post on the DV board, as there are some from NY - and surrounding areas that could tell you lots more. I live on the sandy white beaches in Florida.

WAT,
We didn't go there to see the "Gates" but while we were there it was interesting to see.

Even more interesting was to see the hordes of people who came into the city on the last weekend. I have never seen so many people walking to, around and from the Park. Based upon that one weekend I'd say that the $20M investment was paid back 10 fold
