Stanley, I respectfully request you look at this web site memorial website. It is a memorial for a girl born with only a brain stem. The website was set up by her adoptive mom. I think you may change your view on abortion if you read through this. It is very beautiful and touching. BTW, I am not trying to be disrespectful but trying to educate.

But, I am against abortion!

I think abortion is an abomination. However, this is my personal view and I cannot impose this on other folks who think differently. That makes me something like a pro-choice, but as I said--- I despise abortion.

BTW, regarding right and wrong------- the original topic. There is a little book written by CS Lewis that explains right and wrong quite well as well as how to prove the existence of God. Very nicely done. Perhaps Melody Lane and FH are unto something.

Stanley, is that "Mere Christianity?" I think it is a fabulous book.

I have missed ya and hope you are doing well, Stan. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

The reason I called you out was your view that children with an obvious disability would be a legitimate reason to abort. The website I am directing you to proves otherwise.

I am pretty sure you also agree that abortion is wrong. However, as moral relativist I am willing to make an exception and accept abortion when I know the mother will die and that the fetus has a congenital deformity that is incompatible with a useful life. In a sense, I am not an absolutist when it comes to abortion.

FF:

I read the story----- very moving. The child was beautiful. I don't quite remember why you brought this topic up for discussion. I think it had to do with those who elect abortion when the babay has a severe deformity. Like I said befofre, I don't believe in abortion, but cannot impose my views on others.

Melody:

The book is called a case for Christianity and maybe part of a major work called Mere Christianity (not sure). In any event, CS Lewis tries to show all humans have a natural tendency to do what is morally correct and it seems to be quite natural.
