Alone And Waiting Michael Schluter 7/18/04
I walk through all my days alone, a tear always waiting in the wings to wash away the mask of a smile I wear that hides my deepest feelings. My heart breaks, my soul aches to be heard, listened to and loved, to be held again like a passionate lover instead of a fool who loves in vain.
Sometimes I search to see the love in your eyes, the way it used to be and wonder when I lost it cause I wasn’t as perfect as you wanted me to be. Where do I go? Where do I turn? What’s left for me? All that I have ever loved has forgotten, she once loved me.
I try to make our house a home and show how much I care, but its for when there's no one to notice whether I'm even there. She has my love, no doubt, always will; my soul took flight the day we met and belongs to her still...my wife, my friend, my love till the end.
I sit here alone, when I want to be in your arms, but I belong to the night, the silence, the pain and tears, when I want to belong to you.
Time passes and doesn’t care who it leaves behind, how much more will be wasted for us or will you re-discover me once again [ February 26, 2005, 12:50 PM: Message edited by: Mschluter ]

A Lonely Home Michael Schluter 6/20/04
I lay here like a shadow in the distance, or a forgotten phrase. You walk in and out with out a word, or even a wave. I never knew our marriage, would be nothing but a lonely home to me. I cried and begged for what we use to have. But it seems as if the loneliness swallows the words. So I lay in my lonely home, pillow in hand, the place where you use to lay, before our home turned into just another lonely home.

Poems often express our deepest feelings, and it is good to let them out.
They can also express our hopes.
Can you do one about your hopes - your dream of what your Marriage CAN BE ?
You do well, thanks for sharing.

A Promise to WW Michael Schluter 02/17/05
With all my heart, I give myself to you. Today's union could never be so true.
With this promise, I take on the task of being a husband more than that; I promise to take away your strife’s.
I want us to be soul mates, lovers and best friends from this day, until the very end.
I want you never to feel alone or get ever cold in those nights to the bone.
I want our lives to shine blissfully together No matter what happens, we will have each other
I pledge my love ever so deep to you Eternally, my heart will never leave and make do.

Hi....just wanted to tell you, your poetry is very touching! As a FWW, that last one is something that would be music to my ears to hear. I know my husband feels that way, and we are pretty well recovered....but just reading the words is soothing. Very nice poems....

Yeah, there's something about writing that helps make sense of all the thoughts that whirl around in your head. It forces you to slow down, and in the process, you see what you really think, and find out what you really want. It is great self-therapy! You do a beautiful job expressing yourself that way!

Writing is a wonderful way to express your thoughts. I have found that keeping a diary with thoughts and prayers in it with dates assigned to each entry. Allows me to see how very far my marriage has recovered and what prayers have been answered. I also recommend reading poetry when you need to be uplifted. It is great for your spirit. I ran across this poem on another site today and wanted to share it with everyone. Thought it had some good points that we could all use to improve our marriages and realize what they are about. Why Marriage?

Mari Nichols-Haining
Because to the depths of me, I long to love one person, With all my heart, my soul, my mind, my body...
Because I need a forever friend to trust with the intimacies of me, Who won't hold them against me, Who loves me when I'm unlikable, Who sees the small child in me, and Who looks for the divine potential of me...
Because I need to cuddle in the warmth of the night With someone who thanks God for me, With someone I feel blessed to hold...
Because marriage means opportunity To grow in love in friendship...
Because marriage is a discipline To be added to a list of achievements...
Because marriages do not fail, people fail When they enter into marriage Expecting another to make them whole...
Because, knowing this, I promise myself to take full responsibility For my spiritual, mental and physical wholeness I create me, I take half of the responsibility for my marriage Together we create our marriage..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blessing For A Marriage James Dillet Freeman
May your marriage bring you all the exquisite excitements a marriage should bring, and may life grant you also patience, tolerance, and understanding.
May you always need one another - not so much to fill your emptiness as to help you to know your fullness. A mountain needs a valley to be complete; the valley does not make the mountain less, but more; and the valley is more a valley because it has a mountain towering over it. So let it be with you and you.
May you need one another, but not out of weakness. May you want one another, but not out of lack. May you entice one another, but not compel one another. May you embrace one another, but not out encircle one another. May you succeed in all important ways with one another, and not fail in the little graces. May you look for things to praise, often say, "I love you!" and take no notice of small faults.
If you have quarrels that push you apart, may both of you hope to have good sense enough to take the first step back.
May you enter into the mystery which is the awareness of one another's presence - no more physical than spiritual, warm and near when you are side by side, and warm and near when you are in separate rooms or even distant cities. May you have happiness, and may you find it making one another happy. May you have love, and may you find it loving one another!
---------Let me know if you agree with these thoughts. I thought they were great and powerful

A Little Help Michael Schluter
I try saying it in many ways Getting the message right is tough I could shout it out all night and day And still not feel it was enough
I could paint it on a canvas wide A brightness that would surely blind Yet the fullest meaning would still hide Within the paint that’s left behind
A bass drum I could beat to show How my heart feels when you’re near But an earthquake’s roar would be too low To send my message loud and clear
While writing down these words I find They need some reinforcement, too To let you know you’re on my mind In everything I say and do
And so I pray and ask the Lord “A little help from up above?†And hope the angels pass the word To let you know… you are my Love.

Michael, those are excellent. With your permission, I might stick "A Little Help" (is that with a "?" at the end?) in my book and try to make music for it one day.
How 'bout it?

Never Have I Fallen Michael Schluter 02/20/05
Your lips speak soft sweetness Your touch a cool caress I am lost in your magic My heart beats within your chest
I think of you each morning And dream of you each night I think of your arms being around me And cannot express my delight
Never have I fallen But I am quickly on my way You hold a heart in your hands That has never before been given away

A Broken Heart Michael Schluter 02/27/05
How can she get pleasure out of my pain? How does she know what to do to drive me completely insane? How can she hurt me so much and not even care? I would never have done this to her, I wouldn't have dared. She breaks my heart with every word she says and still has the energy to laugh in my face. I can turn my back and look another way, but I can't hide from the hurt she has left to stay. I yell out of anger and cry out of pain, I sit here driving myself crazy while she is perfectly sane. I wish she could feel everything, Everything she has brought on to me, so she could feel miserable and let me be.
