First of all I love MB. I am only 3 mo past d-day but thanks to this site it has saved my marriage so far.

BUT--- I work so hard to type a well thought out response to somebody after reading ALL their posts to make sure I understand.

THEN--- my entire post disappears when I hit preview post!!!!!!!!!! Suddenly I am no longer logged in.

I always make sure the screen says I am logged in. Yet I am apparently not. I try really hard to remember to copy my post before I preview it in case this happens so I can paste it back on again, but most times I forget. (yes that is my fault.) I don't have this problem with any other site though.

I know they talk about this on the first page before you go into the forum but why oh why can't this be remedied after this site has been up for so long?

OK NOW I FEEL BETTER. Thanks for reading this.

Suzy

oh how I agree, I get so upset because I finaly say something that might be important, and WHAM, it's gone, and you think I can remeber what I said, ya right. so now I am carfull not to send before I check. If it happens, I usually just leave. What do you do?

My advice? Try Mozilla Firefox...

I have never lost anything, and it keeps me logged in until I log out! Even after hibernating and restarting my computer!

There is the added benefit of less chance that hackers will try to exploit it - smaller target...

isn't there a setting on your 'puter that keeps from erasing w/ the back button?

I get logged out several times a day but I can hit back, copy, log back in and reply...

If you hit "back", what you wrote will still be in the text box. Then simply open another window, log onto the site, wait a second, then hit "submit" again. Always worked for me.

I upgraded to the latest netscape (which lost some functionality IMO) and I have not had to log in once since--it's been at least two months.

Like TM, I use Mozilla Firefox.

I no longer get any pop up ads, and almost no spam in my email. It's the only way I will go on the web now, or allow my daughter too.

We were getting those porn pop-ups and I almost got rid of the computer so my DD wouldn't see them, but with Mozilla they are gone.

I still have to go to tools and clear everything or I have trouble logging in here once I have logged out. Probably could just stay logged in all the time to avoid this.

Thanks for the tips. I need to get the Mozilla thingy. We also had a lot of porn pop ups. At the moment my problem is a "trojan horse dropper virus" that just keeps coming back. Any advice. Will Mozilla get rid of it?

Ya thanks for the tips!

I have tried hitting the back button but it was blank. I've even tried going back to a couple screens that I previously visited when I was logged in. Still shows logged out. I use Internet Explorer and sometimes the MSN browser.
Both seem to work about the same.

hurtnheart, yes, I get mad, swear a little bit and leave too. I was so ticked when I went to bed last night after this happened. lol..

I will definitely check out Mozilla though. thanks again!!

Happens to me all the time! Even when I hit the back button, I lose my post! Often times I come here and start reading, then I want to respond and it says you are not logged in! I give up at that point and dont even bother!

Is that Mozilla thingy free? Is it an internet explorer or what?? i am so computer illiterate!

Count me as another who has been using Mozilla Firefox. No lost logins or posts. It is an easy download. I also use Mozilla Thunderbird for email.

Note that there are some sites that aren't compatible with Mozilla so I just go back to Internet Explorer for those. Sometimes there have been plugin problems with Mozilla..overall it's great.

If you don't use Mozilla you can always compose your post in Word then paste it when your ready.

It does log you out when you clear your cookies and your cache files, right?

Yes, only when you clear your cookies, or click the "log out" link...
