All. I have lost my MB session sometimes after every post for months. I read a discussion yesterday about Mozilla. I installed it in a about 3 minutes. Its better than ME but looks and feels almost identical. AND you never get logged off when you don't want to ! Click here and download mozilla now

Hi Bob,
I have been using mozilla since it came out in Beta form.
I like the ease of it and it never has issues.
Don't you wish we could download a faster and more secure WS....LOL
One that does not shut down in the middle of a session...LOL
Mozilla is the best..

Hi bob,
I am not that computer saavy but I am having and have had this continual problem of being logged out too.
Is there anything I should know ahead of time before I install this Mozilla? Will it affect what I currently have on my computer? Will it change my main page set up,etc?
Thanks for any input.

Hi O
You won't have any problems downloading and installing Firefox (Mozilla) -
The first time you start it up, it will ask you if you want it to be your default browser, answer yes and you're set.
It will also set the homepage at the Firefox startpage - but you can easily switch it back to any homepage you want.
Also, after you get it started, go to File=>Import and import your favorites, etc. from IE.
You'll be on the road to being a cool peep again - hee hee (my DD9 is a 'cool peep' now, cause we got her ears pierced)....had to use that phrase somewhere....

Hi David,
Thanks for the tip.I hope this works.I am nervous that my computer is going to crash on me or something. Now that I don't have my WH here,I have to figure all this stuff out on my own.ugh.
Your DD must be so stylin' now with her pierced ears. That is a big milestone for a young lady.My girls have theirs pierced too(although they had to wait until they were 10 yrs old) but don't always wear earrings.
Ok,I'll be calling on ya if I have comp trouble...beware <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Yeah...erm...what he said ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
( been years since I was a techie!).
As IE seems to cause most of the crashes on my PC, Mozilla can only help I guess !

I too have been using Mozilla and never get logged out anymore either. The other GREAT thing about it is that people who use IE are many times more suseptible to viruses, worms and malware....because so many people use it that it's the browser targeted by most of these things. My computer has been running much better since I changed....with far fewer problems.

Thanks Bob. I am trusting all of you that went before me that downloading this is the right thing to do.
It really is kinda scary. It is downloading now.
I clicked on FIREFOX download. Was that the proper one to click on?
I hope I hope <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="images/icons/cool.gif" />

First off, which version did you download? Should be Firefox 1.0.
Second, did you make sure you have it set up as your default browser? (Go to 'tools' => 'General' => "Firefox should check to see if it is the default browser" (make sure there's a cherck in that box).
Third, go into the 'Tools' menu, select 'Advanced' and make sure that you have the following checked:
'Client Security Selection" set to automatic
Also - are you using dial up, dsl, or cable connection?
Don't worry - we'll get this working. I did this for a living for a long time....

I've been using it for 3 days now...not logged out once...IE, still logs me out! ARGH!
I have a question though...if I use DSL my internet is always connected...it seems now that it is slower having two browsers open...should I delete IE altogehter...but someone said that some sites wont open up in Mozilla???
I also got so irritated with IE cuz some of the sites would open up and I owuld have X's all over the page where pictures should have been! Not a problem anymore! This really is a cool browser! Thanks for the Rec!

David and Bob. Just like Octobergirl, I am not staying logged in.
I made a boo boo and said NOT to set it as my default browser. Do I need to download it again and this time say YES?
I see it IS in my control panel programs.
This was the directions I got from the Firefox 'help' and DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO DO IT.
The first time you run the browser, it should ask you if you want to make Mozilla your default browser. If you answered ‘no’ and later decide you would like it to act as your default browser:
Windows: go to Edit | Preferences | Advanced | System. Under ‘file types’, check ‘HTML’, ‘XHTML’ and ‘XML’; under ‘protocols’, check all boxes. You can also tell Mozilla to open various image types by default.

Hi David,
I did download the 1.0 version but I didn't allow Firefox to be my default browser. Is that the problem?
I am used to Internet Explorer.

Octobergirl, I just posted above your post and did the very same thing. (Said NO to having it as my default browser.)
I wanted to keep Yahoo as my homepage and was afraid that would change it, if I said "yes"
You mean we won't click on the Blue E for hooking up to the Internet if we have this as our Default Browser?
Whew, that would sure seem STRANGE! <small>[ March 12, 2005, 12:07 PM: Message edited by: Silly Girl 04 ]</small>

Some programs autmoatically open IE (MSN email, etc) but there is no reason to open two browsers. If necessary, just shut IE off.
If you want to actually use IE, and get 'X's instead of pictures, Go to "View", "Encoding" and choose a and switch the mode to "Automatic" or "Western European", etc..... one of those settings will get you the pix you are looking for. BTW, you're not supposed to be looking at "X" pictures anyway <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />
It's possible you have Windows set up so that the Desktop is set as a web browser - you need to turn that off 'cause it sets up your desktop as an IE page....
