David, if we don't change FIREFOX to be our default browser, does it do us any good to have it downloaded???

Thanks for the help.

Octobergirl, go to View and then see what your text size is on.

Sounds like yours is set on smallest. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" />

It should do it automatically, but once in a while it won't switch, or else you can accidentallly hit the wrong choice....

Incidentally, in case you missed it in my post earlier, got to the "Tools" menu, Select the "General" icon on the left hand side, and the fourth selection down on the right side should be "Default Browser" - make sure you put a check mark in the little box there.....that will remove IE from it's default as browser

Don't delete IE. You just go back to it if you have to for certain sites....sometimes I can't find the right plug in to listen to something online so I have to go back to IE. Sometimes I have IE doing something then browse in Firefox. No problems but I'd rather not have to use IE at all. One example: Realtor MLS search site isn't compatible with Firefox.

Follow the directions to make Mozilla Firefox the default browser. Some times when on of my kids use IE they change it to the default because IE give them a message box and they click yes to that question. I need to tell them not to do that.

Once in Firefox you won't find too much difference. Favorites will now be called Bookmarks. Nothing to be afraid of at all.

I've been using it since Sept. when it was Beta.

After all this 'worry' about the default, when I re-connected it said:

You do not have Firefox as your default browser, do you want it so I said YES.

To make yahoo my Home Page again, I had to:

1. Pull down the Tools menu and select Options
2. Select the General category
3. Type www.yahoo.com in the Location entry box under the Home Page heading
4. Click the OK button

But here is my main problem with this change over.
I LOST EVERYTHING THAT I HAD SAVED TO FAVORITES OR BOOKMARKS. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT AT ALL.

Did the rest of you lose everything since it was on our previous browser? Did you Bob?
Or did you keep both your browsers.

I just realized if I click on the BLUE E for Explorer, I still have all my favorites bookmarked; they just don't show on the Foxfire Bookmarks.

So I am going to keep both.
I am with you, Octobergirl, I might even delete Foxfire unless someone says it is better to have both of them.

Betrayed Man, did you lose all your previous favorites when you downloaded the new Firefox browser.

I just went to programs and removed Firefox.

BECAUSE, I have always been able to simply go to TOOLS, then Internet options, and DELETE COOKIES, DELETE TEMP. INTERNET FILES and CLEAR HISTORY.

It didn't work that way when I clicked on TOOLS with the Firefox browser.

So anyhow, back to the way it was before.
Just will have to log in more often at MB. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />

Hey it worked. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

I'm going to keep using IE for most things and Firefox for MB.

I quite like it but it logs me in to MB even when I log out - should it do that?

Believe me...Mozilla Firefox is easy and you can keep your favorites/bookmarks etc.

A couple of things are in different places. Certainly any differences that you will have to adjust to are worth not having to log in ever again on MB and anywhere else you've had that problem.

You do keep both browsers on your desktop...it is no big deal.

Don't worry about it...you will catch on.

As for clearing cookies. etc: It's really easy with firefx: Click on Tools=>Privacy and then select what you want to delete (I always leave my passwords in so I don't have to resign in every time, but there is a 'clear all button.)

And as for the favorites/bookmarks - there's no way to move them to the left side of the page - sorry....
