I really couldn't explain it other than saying the standard......pain, anger, confusion......depression.
BUT.....I was listening to one of my daughters CD's this morning....and this song really hit on how I felt just after DDay.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams Green Day
I walk a lonely road The only one that I have ever known Don't know where it goes But it's home to me and I walk alone
I walk this empty street On the boulevard of broken dreams Where the city sleeps And I'm the only one and I walk alone I walk alone I walk alone I walk alone I walk alone
[CHORUS:] My shadow's the only one that walks beside me My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me 'Till then I walk alone
I'm walking down the line That divides me somewhere in my mind On the border line of the edge And where I walk alone
Read between the lines What's f----- up and everythings all right Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive And I walk alone
I walk alone I walk alone I walk alone I walk alone
[CHORUS]
I walk this empty street On the boulevard of broken dreams Where the city sleeps And I'm the only one and I walk alone
Of course it doesn't describe how I feel today....but I still like the song.

I discovered this song aroung Dday. Mine was only 3 1/2 mo ago. I listened to it so much that my 5 year old daughter even knows the words- the chorus anyway. (The "what's F***** up" part she does not hear/understand thank goodness.) LOL

I tried to articulate that sensation too, but not as lyrically as Green Day I'm afraid... How did I feel on D-day ?
