I have been on AD for 4 years since finding out about the affair. Just before Christmas I decided tocome off them and halved my dose. I did all this through the doctor and two weeks ago stopped them completely.

Since then I have been impossible. My mood swings are all over the place. I'm never happy with what FWH is doing. I shout much more at the kids, cry more and generally feel my marriage is gong down the pan.

Our arguments are fierce and everything he does/says irritates me or makes me angry.

I also suffer from compulsive over eating and all this angst is just making me eat.

I'm at the stage of suggesting separation just so I can get some time away from him but I don't want to put the kids through unnecessary turmoil if it is the effects of coming off AD and will be far less bad in a months time.

Please, please help and tell me how long it takes for AD's to get out of your system???

Hopefully

For me it took about a month to feel back to normal but I was only on them for about five months maybe little less and on a very, very low dose.

I can't even tell you how nasty it was coming off. Terrible head rushes like I was being electricuted. The A/D's also destroyed my metabolism so I am just now getting my stomach back to normal. They also caused a nasty little twitch in left eye - gone now.

I suggest you stay in close contact with your doctor so that he can monitor your mood swings.

Don't know what else to offer except to talk to your doctor about this.

Some others will give you your experiences I'm sure.
