FGG:
Maybe not Mel Gibson then.
I'm thinking more along the lines of Tommy Lee Jones in MIB. Consider a black suit and dark sunglasses (and that Neurolizer would come in real handy if your W should show up at your door unannouced someday), and maybe trade that Honda in for a nice, black Ford POS?

2long - I think that I'm a lot closer match to Tommy Lee Jones than Mel Gibson (unfortunately). And....I've already got the dark sunglasses (no pink frames). Hum...have to work on the vehicle issue. I don't know what a Ford POS is? I think MY dream car would be a Lexus SC430, I love that convertible hard top (however, about 63K, too much). I would have never thought it, but I really got to like having a convertible. However, it wouldn't be a T-Bird, that was WW's own personal selection. Nice car to look at, but still very much a Ford (sorry Ford fans). Oh...I know....last year when we were in Albuquerque (sic?), Hertz gave us a new Volvo to drive. I fell in love with that car. Perhaps...combining the best of both worlds: http://www.volvocars.us/Showroom/C70/Gallery/Exterior/How about that? Mimi...is that far enough away from my EDDIE BAUER image? Georiga

That Volvo is alright, but ol' 2long, in his infinite finmobile wisdom, has the PERFECT car for YOU and those dark sunglasses! http://hem.passagen.se/ianderss/buick58e.htmCan you say "ostentatious"? I knew you could! ...but then I found THIS, and all I could do was drool and say "...oh, wow..." (lower case intentional): http://photos.velocityjournal.com/images/full/2003/s2003080301/hd1951hornetconv7601.jpgWe had a 2ple Hudsons when I was a kid (not convertibles, though), and I would just LOVE 2 drive one! -ol' 2long

Sigh.....
I've been trying to post less, but WGG, you, Mimi, and 2long are too hard to resist!
Don't have but a minute, but will be back with more thoughts on several subjects brought forth but first...
Cool car 2long!! WGG would look sporty in that.
Did I tell you my father has his 1954 Ford Convertable still sitting in the garage. Needs to be totally restored, but I doubt he'll do that now. He bought it new!
Also, WGG you did spell Albuquerque right! Takes a long time to type it correctly consistently, but I do fine now. It's where I live!

2Long -
The Hudson's might be okay, but the '58 Buick is much germaine to Elvis than Tommy Lee, don't you think?

CSue -
I enjoyed our visit to ABQ (I'm going to cheat). WW was with me on a business trip, my meeting got cut short and we stayed 2 extra days.
We stayed at the AmeriSuites, rode the tram up Sandia Peak and ate dinner at the top one night. Also, riding out in the desert and seeing all the beautiful mesa's was amazing. I'd love to do that again with my new camera. We also visited the Indian village on top of the peak (I forgot the name). It's a beautiful place to visit. I really miss those mini-vacations with WW.
If I decide to take Jeb on a 2 week (or so) vacation out west, I'd like to come through that area again.
Mimi - I was just reading your post over at the GODDESS site. So, you're going through this little phase yourself, eh? Trying to get me to walk on the wild side while you're working on it yourself.
Okay, I'll work on loosening up a little. I know that a guy with my background is just one step short of a CPA when it comes to wild and crazy (sorry all CPA's). But...I'll see what I can do.
My B'day is later this month. I've already resolved that I will wear the "cool" Hawaiian print shirt on my birthday, even though I have no idea what I'll be doing.
And, I am seriously thinking about posting a picture of me and Jeb on the site on my b'day. (Assuming I still have SOME hair left by then, and I've got gained any more weight.).

Hi Georgia, All things considering, you sound well.
I think I like the Hudson better too, though the Buick reminds me of my first car - a 57 Chev.
It's nice to have friends to laugh with, but please realize we are praying with you too. I know sometimes you feel all alone in the world, but you are not.
That bit I did a while ago about church was mostly for Mimi - I wasn't preaching to you. Oh shoot, that sounds bad, I wasn't preaching to Mimi either, but she once asked for reasons why going to church was good - so I chimed in.
CSue, I wondered about your accent. Now I know - It's a NM accent! I live in the desert southwest too, but a ways from you.
2long, I You sound happy. It better be true !!
Thanks Georgia, You have a such a nice thread, with so many people I admire and respect posting on it. It's fun to visit, hope you don't mind me coming by every once in a while.

Hi Still:
Please continue to drop by and post. I really appreciated your church discussion. We are continuing to work on that! I've even considered the Catholic Church down the street from us and I am Baptist!
Yep, Georgia! I am asking you to join this process with me. I am the GODDESS! You are the WARRIOR!

Oh man...my desk phone just rang and I answered it (for a change). It was WW.
She started out asking about income tax, which I talked to her about. Then...it progressed to she asked if I was seeing a counselor, and I told her yes. She said she saw a new counselor for the first time last night (2 hours), and is seeing her again soon.
Then, she asked if we are going to work on our M together. I told her that I was not interested in being married to a wife with another man involved. She started this thing about how I don't understand, it's not like that....blah blah blah....
Then she started saying that I am wanting out of the marriage and I am using this as an excuse...and I hung up on her.
How dense can one person be? Have I not clearly communicated to her that WGG + WW + OM is not a marriage?
Why does she have to do this and just get me all upset and nervous like this? Back to my EDDIE BAUER shirt and '97 Accord.
KICK ME, KICK ME, KICK ME.......

How dense can one person be? You may have noticed that some people "never get it." Not because they can't, but because they don't want to.
Have I not clearly communicated to her that WGG + WW + OM is not a marriage?
No - you haven't. Not because you didn't try, but because she won't listen. My father used to tell me that before you can communicate, you have to get someone's attention. We had all hoped that you moving out would do that, and there has been a glimmer a time or two, but until you get her attention, there is no communication going on - just her trying to get you to accept what she wants, with no thoughts of your feelings, or what you want or need. Remember a third person in the marriage is not a "need."
Why in the world would I want to kick someone that is trying so hard, and living so well, without hatered, or spiteful actions?
I wish you would stay away - I hate to see you in pain, but I know you do what you do out of hope. I see that as a good thing.
I used to get the Eddie bauer catalog back in the early 70's when they made the best down sleeping bags you could get. I coudn't afford one then. It's still a good name.
Georgia, I don't always know the right thing to say, but I care.

Calm Down. Take a deep breath. She was feeling you out. Great that you hung up on her. Great that you reiterated your position. No 2X4s from me.
Stay on course.....
Didn't I just tell you that you don't know what the future holds?
About the counselor... I don't think he is being empathetic.
Be a Warrior and call him on this! Tell him that you need for him to try to understand what you are going through from your perspective, not his.....
It's not over with WW. She may be taking baby steps... A counselor that she contacted on her own.... THAT's GREAT! Actually, that's really good news....

Thanks Still and Mimi...
Boy, that was really unsettling. Thank you both for being there. Still, it's not what you say as much is that you are there and care. Thank you both.
Amazing how quickly she tries to steer the conversation away from OM to any other subject she can think of..anything but OM. She even had time to tell me that the lawnmower is broke (my good John Deere lawnmower!). She asked if I would come fix it, or if she should call a repairman. She doesn't get it....I have a court order that says what I will pay for and lawn mower maintenance ain't included.
Sigh....

WGG,
Sorry you were surprised by your WW. I just sit here and shake my head...It is good that she is voluntarily seeing an IC....but she's just at the tip of the process. But she needs to work on her IC issues, come to terms with them on her own with her IC; then maybe, just maybe she'll begin to SEE through the fog...Where will you be by then??? Who knows?
God bless her...she has an enormous journey ahead, and I still don't think she has ANY idea, really.
WGG, you did beautifully! Glad you hung up when you did. Glad she has to sweat the lawn mower on her own. Hold your ground, don't crack ~ your job is to take care of YOU!!!
Ben & Jerry's is the best stuff here. Whatever is the most chocolate. Glad you have your friends here too.

SS,
Yes, I believe you're a few states away from here!
We talk at times of moving to Colorado. But unlikely! It is beautiful here and the weather and outdoor activities are perfect.
WGG, if you're out this way again you MUST go to the Grand Canyon if you've never been before. It is absolutely life changing. A goal for getting into shape would be to hike down to the bottom.
Jeb couldn't go, but I believe they have kennels there - he probably wouldn't mind being there for a short time.
Glad you GUYS are here to help take care of WGG..

Good Morning -
Let me say, again, how very much I appreciate you all being here and caring. These little WW "eruptions" are hard to take. I don't understand what the body does, but after one of those little "near misses" I feel so tired and stressed that I want to lay down and go to sleep. I dunno, maybe it's a desire to escape. Anyway, it helps so much to know you all (y'all?) are here and care. Thanks.
As usual, pottery was absolutely wonderful. I made (on the wheel) a cup, a small, delicate, classy cup. Kinda like you would drink tea from. I am very proud of it. I've progresses somewhat from not being able to center my clay ont he wheel to now I'm beginning to make things that have some character.
I've not ruled out buying a wheel and setting up a small studio in the house. I don't remember if I have said it here, but I have 2 rooms that I am using for storage. I could convert one of them to a studio.
But then...how long will I be in this house? Lease is up in July, but the owner would LOVE for me to stay longer.
Point is....pottery is great. An excellent release of stressors, and to a guy like me who lives in a technical world, touching some creativity and art is absolutely fabulous.
I am thinking more and more about a vacation with just me and Jeb (Jeb and I? I've never been good at grammar). And....out west would offer some excellent photo opportunities, but I'd like to go before it gets so hot.
CSue - I've always wanted to do the donkey ride to the bottom of the canyon (I've not been there at all). Have you done that?
It would definitely take me several months to get into shape to do any hiking. I wish I hadn't gotten out of my work out routine, I was feeling so good (physically) and building up some good upper body muscle (no bully's gonna kick sand in my face at the beach this year!!).
Also, this may seem a bit mundane to you all, but my friends (Phil) offer is kinda appealing to me. I think the challenge of what he is asking me to do might be somewhat a boost that I could use right now, and (if I may be so modest), I think I could be of benefit to him. His company has grown so rapidly it is (basically) out of control. He is a degreed engineer with no mgmt experience, so he is a bit perplexed as to what to do. I have a mgmt degree and understand (somewhat) management principles.
Okay, I'm ramblin' again. Sorry folks.
I wonder if I could get Hertz to rent me (reasonably) a nice convertible for a trip out west? Now that would be nice, especially if I could go before the weather is so unbearable.
Georgia.

I keep getting logged off!
Your WW puts you in touch with your grieving, your feelings of loss. You are missing her, of course. It's worse because she is living and breathing, yet dead to you. I know how you are feeling and I am sad for you. There's no real solution other than to suffer through the pain and have faith that the LORD will take care of you. HE knows all about suffering.
Too bad that your counselor is not more supportive. You need a listening ear, not someone wanting to change you.
However, you are doing great stuff! Sounds like you made a GODDESS CUP to me. Now on to sampling some new teas? That would be my inclination but, of course, you are a WARRIOR and not a GODDESS...
Helping out your friend..planning a vacation with JEB...all good stuff!
Have fun, no matter what!
I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.
