I am having trouble detaching from my husband. Whenever I am around him I get emotional and he pulls away. Does anybody have any suggestions that may help.

It is hard when you still see him. What is your sich? Are you living together? Divorcing? What is going on?

I have been married a little over a year, together 2 1/2. I have been moved out about 1 month. I see him once a week to get my mail. A couple of weeks ago, he actually made me lunch. Last week was really tense, before I left I asked him if he would consider trying to fix our marriage. He asked what I had in mind. I told him about the workbook I found on this site and he said that it sounded O.K. to him. I am going to wait until he brings it up again to give him the info. I am trying not to push and give him his space, I just needed to know that he sees a chance for us. I am going to see him tomorrow and we have actually exchanged several emails today, which is amazing. I am optimistic about tomorrow.

I wish you luck with tomorrow. Did he have an A? I think the only thing to help you detach is time. Keep yourself busy with friends so you don't sit around and think abot your marriage 24/7. I know that is hard, but it does get easier in time.

Good luck

Plan B is designed to help you detach. In Plan B you have absolutely no contact. However, Plan B is a last ditch effort and often doesn't work. It definitely won't work if you haven't left a good taste in his mouth by doing an effective Plan A. Plan A is designed to show your spouse that you are the best thing that ever happened to him.

Are you in Plan A? Are you trying to meet whatever needs he'll let you meet? Are you avoiding LBs no matter what the circumstances?

Unless you are doing that, he might not be willing to give the marriage another chance. If you want him to try, you need to show him why it's worth his energy and time. That means showing him you can be his ideal spouse.

After a couple of weeks of Plan A, I think you could bring it up again. You can't wait on him because he may be waiting on you. HOWEVER, when you bring it up, you need to be respectful and not demanding.

Good luck.

Unfortunately, he cancelled on me today. He called about an hour before I was supposed to meet him and said that he was with a friend and didn't think that he would be home so he left my mail at my mom's. I can't help but feel that he is avoiding me. How can I make things better, if I never see him. Any advice?

Sunday I called my husband in reference to a computer problem and he helped me and I ended the call. I decided that I would not initate any other contact with him for a least a week. He intiated an email with me yesterday. I am trying not to read too much into it, but I can't help but feel hope.
