In like Flynn...cool!
Now I'm inspired on this beauuuuuutiful Saturday morning...
and this reminds me of a song by ZZ Top about sunglasses -
"Cheap Sunglasses"
When you get up in the morning and the light is hurt your head The first thing you do when you get up out of bed Is hit that street a-runnin' and try to meet the masses And go get yourself some cheap sunglasses Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Spied a little thing and I followed her all night In a funky fine levis and her sweater's kind of tight She had a west coast strut that was sweet as molases But what really knocked me out was her cheap sunglasses Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Now go out and get yourself some thick black frames With the glass so dark thay won't even know your name And the choice is up to you cause they come in two classes Rhinestone shades and cheap sunglasses Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

I thought of some GODDESS ROLE MODELS (other than us of course)
Diane Keaton in AS GOOD AS IT GETS
Tina Turner
Katie Couric
The YA-YA Sisterhood
What do you think? Any other GODDESS HALL OF FAMERS?
I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

This is SHALOW as all get out, but since I'm not a goddess (a godder, perhaps?, I'm going 2 post anyway):
Corey Hart, "Sunglasses at Night"
"I wear my sunglasses at night so I can so I can Watch you weave then breathe your story lines. And I wear my sunglasses at night so I can so I can Keep track of the visions in my eyes. While she's deceiving me it cuts my security. Has she got control of me? - I turn to her and say: Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades oh no. Don't masquerade with the guy in shades oh no I can't believe it! You got it made with the guy in shades oh no. And I wear my sunglasses at night so I can so i can Forget my name while you collect your claim And I wear my sunglasses at night so I can. so I can. See the light that's right before my eyes. While she's deceiving me she cuts my security She gots control of me I turn to her and say . . . Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades oh no. Don't masquerade with the guy in shades oh no I can't believe it! Don't be afraid of the guy in shades oh no it can't escape you
cause you got it made with the guy in shades oh no. I said: I wear my sunglasses at night. I wear my sunglasses at night I wear my sunglasses at night. I'll say it to you now: I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night I wear my sunglasses at night. I cry to you: I wear my sunglasses at night. I wear my sunglasses at night"
S2pid, huh?

HopefulinNY and DyingHere
Don't just THINK you are a Goddess, but KNOW. You both are SOooo Goddesses if you just let yourself be!!!
I think of a goddess as one who's beauty pours out from the inside, and she can't help but be confident in her walk, dress, dance, and speak. I think of Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde...OK, Im a blonde wanna be, but no matter what, she does it her own way, and it works out.
And considering politics aside, I love women in POWER, Ms. Rice, Ms. Clinton, Ms. Reno...these are NOT women Joan Rivers gives a hard time about their dress...even if they wore pink sunglasses (which I can imagine they wear when the camers aren't around).
Sometimes we are called the B word, and we laugh...THAT's an insult? And sometimes we are called the Wh word, and we know nothing could be further from the truth...we don't Wh* around...we dress for ourselves...and the compliments.
And if we were to run into the OW..they are afraid of us. (BTW Mimi, my OW is a voluptuous fashion maven, and VERY afraid of me!!!)
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!

STILL HERE:
You are the QUEEN GODDESS! We are so much on the same wavelength, on the same page....
How could I forget CONDI and, of course, HILLARY?
That's what I saw in the OW's eyes the other day... FEAR... However, she is far from voluptuous or fashionable!
Ok, I'm going to say it....
I LOVE YOU, STILLHERE!!!

Thanks Mimi
It's funny...before A I was a slouchy dresser, ponytail, tennis shoes kind of gal. The older I get the less I want to hide my body and the more I enjoy that look on my H's face (and body) when I wear the slim, of the shoulder pink tee with the low rise jeans flared at the bottom with the pointy toed shoes that show off just a bit of toe cleavage (I still have to shop for my pink sunglasses...)
But nothing is like the confidence I have, not AFRAID of what he thinks, afraid that he will fall out of love and leave me...because I lived through that...he fell out of love nad left me, and I didn't fall *completely* apart. Very tough, but I made it, and he came back because I started acting more loving and confident...if not for him, then the next man...then I started dressing the part. And he couldn't resist me.
Sometimes I forget I'm a goddess, Thank You Mimi for reminding ME!!

Goddess hall of famers? From a godder?
:
...um... ...my W, about 31 years ago. We were walking from Rock Point, AZ, up a canyon cut in2 the Wingate Sandstone just a few miles 2 the NW, late in the afternoon. Beautiful cross-bedded sandstone from the early Jurrasic. Harking back 2 when there were giant sauropods roaming the lands - but not here, 2 dry for them...
Cut in2 these amazing canyons, with small seep springs at their amphitheatre heads. I remember there were a 2ple of carcasses about a 3rd of the way up the canyon. 2 cows, a mother and her calf, that must have been caught in a chill years before... ... they were nothing but dehydrated skin over bones. ...but it wasn't a sad scene. It was rather surrealistic, though. I remember that part of the canyon being rather quiet and spiri2al, though. More than the rest of it.
Anyway, we walked on. Various places with red sand dunes piled against the canyon walls... ...at the head of the canyon, which was probably about 200 feet deep at this point, the sand ramped up against the amphitheatre head scarp, and there was a pond at the top of this mound of sand where water seeping out of the cliff face was pooling. It was another surreal sight. Beautiful pale reddish sand piled up about 20 feet above the floor of the canyon, water percolating from the rock. Ferns growing around the spring... Someone had made a pool at the top of the sand mound that was about a foot wide by about 10 feet long...
When the sun had just gone down, and if we were really quiet, bats would swoop down, SOUNDLESSLY, and drink from the pond. They were amazing 2 watch. Literally made absolutely no sound even in a dead calm... ...and as it was dimming in2 2wilight, it was almost spooky - you could see them, almost, but they didn't make any noise at all...
The sunsets from Rock Point, AZ, in the middle or 2ward the end of July are the most amazing I've ever seen in my life...
My W (then just a 'friend' that I was REALLY interested in) and I waited until it was starting 2 get dark, before we headed back 2 "town" (I was working at the BIA Boarding School that summer).
It was halfway back 2 the boarding school that my W and I held hands for the first time.
I have never before, or since, experienced such a magical afternoon/evening. Don't know if I ever will again... ...but my W will be on a field trip right smack dab through Rock Point in a week or 2, and I won't be there...
...I'm sorry. That's my "goddess" story.

2LONG:
I saw the Chrysler on GEORGIA'S thread!
OMG, my Daddy (now passed away) had that car when I was a little girl! It wasn't a convertible, though!
I had to wipe by feet before getting into it!
Thanks, 2LONG

I hope that most of the memories were good ones though...
I know someone who bought a 1930 Marom V-16 for a song... That car is worth over $125K now... ...but completely worthless compared 2 family...

YES! YES! I do enjoy that look on my H's face when I surprise him with my outfits. (This is me whispering in case anyone is listening... ) Have you tried dressing or undressing in front of him sort of pretending that he isn't noticing? At this time, you break out your new underwear. However, as you say, most important is our own increased confidence. I am right there with you on this. not AFRAID of what he thinks, afraid that he will fall out of love and leave me...because I lived through that...he fell out of love nad left me, and I didn't fall *completely* apart. Very tough, but I made it, and he came back because I started acting more loving and confident...if not for him, then the next man...then I started dressing the part. And he couldn't resist me. I had to say it again because it is so on target! Actually sometimes when I get a wee bit anxious about him starting up again or leaving. I say this to myself for affirmation! SISTER GODDESSES, AFRAID ABOUT PLAN B, LISTEN TO STILLHERE!! THIS SPEAKS TO THE VALUE OF PLAN B!
I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

How about Godzilla?
Or Merlin the Wizard... who changes frumpy, downtrodden girls into magnificent godesses with his magical alchemy.
On a more serious note to 2long -
I think you should go to AZ with your wife and see if that special moment when you were dating can be recreated. Share your memory of that day with her and let her know you would like to accompany her on her trip. Is it worth a try? You are still there so why not keep on trying until such a time might come that you are not still there.

Can I join? At least to junior Diva status?!
I am still working on the body, but I have a gorgeous (and natural!) bossom and black calf high boots!
Got me some dark Ray Bans.... and I know I am the main course here... that sad, pathetic [color:"red"]blubber dog[/color] excuse for an OW isn't even the scraps on the kitchen floor!
...and I make the best Margaritas....lime, frozen, no salt... and even have the pretty glass to put it in!

Twist him 'round 'round and tatter up a soul
Handprint of God on the small of my back
my second chance, my second chance.
I'll bend a knee my friend, I'll bend a knee...
Lay It Down say it's all my fault, all my fault.
Say I believe, I believe lay it down.
This the hour of my healing, of my healing,
yeah my heart, my heart redeemed."

WELCOME! WELCOME! TO ALL NEW GODDESSES!
Aren't we just FABULOUS?
TNT, MOM and all, I LUV YA!
I haven't tried Margarita's. That's a goal.... I was contemplating a tatoo this weekend. Even asked my FWH about it. LOL here, remembering his question: "Do you think you need to do "that sort of thing"? I was thinking that it's probably no worse than the "kinky" stuff he used to do with the OW. He's probably afraid that I will become "wh*&*ish" like her. My tatoo will be TASTEFUL.
I've been thinking about my OW sighting last week which got all of this started, BTW. For any of you that don't know, I ended up behind the FOW in a traffic lane and then breezed by her in my shiny new pseudo-sportscar. Then she followed me down the road a bit before disappearing.
Some said that I should not have given her the satisfaction of trying to bother her. I've decided that it really must have "freaked" her out to see me in the car. I hope so at least. Today I'm gloating over how she is still driving her grungy old car and my FWH bought me a new car which he keeps shiny! The car is not a big issue for me, GODDESSES! I would rather have my H than any car. However, it is significant that he never bought her anything major and she still doesn't have him! I hope she is suffering about this today. I hope she is suffering like she caused me to suffer so many days and so many nights. I hope she is lonely and feels like the wh#$# that she is and was. At least, my H keeps trying to ask for my forgiveness in any way that he can!
So there, I've had my OW vent this morning! On to more lofty goals!
I wore my "flirty skirt" today! H called me back to say he liked my "outfit"!
I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

This diva/goddess is heartily sick of packing!!!!!!!
BUT: I took time off yesterday to walk Princess Rosita Winnifred Daugginpauhs around the lake. Gotta have ME time!
I wore my 60s style mini-shirtdress today because I watched Austin Powers while packing yesterday. (hehe)
