I'm going to go take a shower right now and start the beautification process. It's Friday and that holds a few possibilities. Unlike WH, my evening holds softball practice and dinner with the kids. In the end, that's a better place to be than some bar.

BTW: knickers is "English" for panties.

Well, I'm here with my new sassy haircut, muscles aching from exercise, yard work, installing a folding door to my sort of home office and installing my new shower massage. (That helps with my achy muscles!) It was a busy weekend.

But it's good to stay busy. It's a puzzlement to SOME people and makes them wonder what you're up to. I don't mind being known as a dependable person, but I don't want to be taken for granted anymore.

This goddess has been feeling glum. Spent morning in un-goddesslike activity throwing away kitchen/pantry stuffs, packing up the pots, pans, etc, to prepare for eventual move :-(

It would be more fun to apply goddesslike behavior to the task and instead of packing, I'll chuck it ALL with a virtual tornado storm in mind!!!! :-)

Mimi - indeed you ARE a Goddess! I think the full moon makes everyone a little crazy. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> That's why I stayed busy this weekend. Don't want to relive 28 months ago. Full moon is trigger from Dday and I spent most of the weekend alone (another trigger) <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> You'd think by now I'd have them more under control.

I know you know this, but as Goddesses, our FOW no longer have any power over our thoughts and feelings...they are nothing, dust in the wind. I hardly ever think of the OW, except at full moon and when my H is spending a lot of time away or when I would like to take off for a weekend - just us two - and he doesn't want to. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Don't want to think this is the best it'll ever be. It's like the pre-A stuff and it's not working for me! So I cut the grass, trim shrubs, hammer nails and wait and see.

Enough depressing talk <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" /> - not good for Goddesses and I hope I didn't make you feel even more down.

Sally - Good for you! A Goddess does what needs to be done. Are you changing your haircolor or just "refreshing" it? I think you'd make a good "red-head".

Here goes:

Just a friendly reminder, it's that time of the year again.

Please raise your BIG TOE and repeat after me:

As a member of the Faux Paux Sisterhood, I pledge to follow The Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back in to place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it. No matter how much it hurts.

I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat, and I would
hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes look like they've been dragged behind her car on the
way to work and no sandal in the world is going to make her feet look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops, that I will ensure they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go to my local beauty school at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $15 and worth EVERY penny). I say spend another $15.00 and get a even better one.

And finally...

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear...nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals...

For all our sakes, please don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to other Sisters.

This has been a laughing point because I am a SHOE PERSON and FOW bought her shoes there... NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE but anyone who knows me knows how different that makes her from me! My friends would say,"She will never be able to catch up to you in style". My FWH would try to buy her "leather" shoes and he said that she would feel uncomfortable with the shoes and return them back to the store for "money". What a SLIMEBALL (as GRAPEGIRL would say).

I did buy some "undies" on sale last night and a new "POCKETBOOK"!! That was fun....
