Has anyone read this book by Dr Laura Slessinger? I bought it and gave it to my wife but she didnt recieve it well. She thought I was bringing up her downfalls and resented it. I havnt read it yet but plan to.

I read the book when it first came out. I actually like it a lot. It is a tad interesting that a husband would give it to his wife. The concepts are simplistic in thought but I guess hard for us to cary out in every day lives at times. In anycase I loved the book I recently bought the follow up women power.

Its a great book, I read it and will probably read it again. Only one problem with it, if your wife is not in the right frame of mind to recieve that kind of advice then it could be taken as pretty insulting. I whole heartedly agree with the book, but it does tend to feel a bit like a swift kick in the seat at times, when one of her comments hits home. That book, although helpful, is something you have to WANT to read, or understand. I bought that book on my own but if my husband had bought it for me, I know I would have felt differntly about it. I dont think its a good idea for husbands to buy that particular book for their wives. If you dont read it with an open mind it would probably just serve to make her angry. Having you buy it for her? Uh, well, I guess you will just have to read it to understand what I mean.
