Thought I'd pop in and say hello and give a little update....
I've been here going on three years, I mostly lurk now but will occasionally post from time to time if I have something constructive to say. For those who don't know my story here's the cliff notes version:
Wife is WS/WS/BS I am BS/BS/WS
Nice resume, huh?
We're healed I believe. There are still some small scars there but they don't bleed and they seldom hurt anymore.
Work is hectic, my wife is changing careers and my eight year old daughter looks more like a "little woman" everyday. The other day she asked me if she could have a car when she was 16. I said we'll see when you get 16.
She started to walk away and turned and said "Daddy, if you get me a car, can you get me on where the doors open like this (raising her arms ala Lambourgini door style )" I laughed and said that I doubt it because they cost more than our house. She looked suprised and added, "Can I get a limo instead?"
My lovely wife and I are doing very good. We have partnered with our church and Family Dynamics to facilitate a marriage class. The class is 8 weeks long and based on His Needs, Her Needs and Love Busters but with religion injected into the books. It is a collaboration between Joe Beam and Dr. Harley...pretty powerful stuff when you mix the two together
It's awesome to find ourselves in this position. Two years ago we weren't even living together and now were helping others avoid the mistakes we made (over and over again).
Not much else to say, hope everyone has a great weekend.
God Bless
Doug

Doug,
There have been a few on here who desparately need to hear your families success story.
I have a feeling that is why you chose to post it, and I hope they get a chance to read it.

Well, my daughter wasn't that young when she said her funniest auto-related thing.
She was probably 15, when we were teaching her 2 drive and contemplating getting a used car for her 2 drive 2 school and work in (at Sees Candies, when 2th my W and I had 2 work, so couldn't drop her off).
One of her basic criteria for us making the selection was that the car had 2 be younger than her - preferably a LOT younger. She said she'd like something like a nice late model Volvo or something. And I pointed 2 my 1967 VW Bus, which had almost 400,000 miles on it at the time, and said "for the price of a late model Volvo, I could get another 15 of these!"
She didn't hesitate a minute. She said "Yeah, but why would anybody want 2?"
I said no more.

Funny, my DD 12 always tells me what car she wants. Let me see...BMW, PT Cruiser, Mustang... my first car was beat up 1966 bug I paid 800.00 for.

When my wife and I were separated I can remember coming here and looking for someon's success. They were a boost, a second wind in my own life. I prayed one day that we could heal our marriage. Well it happened.....now we are "passing it on." 2, I've been waiting for a 151 to come my way. My wife says they remind her of me... I think that is a good thing If I believed in rein carnation I was a thing in a previous life.

Weekends seem to be very hard for those in the midst of pain and the unbelievable heartbreak of infidelity.
Wanted to bump for all those who are losing hope -
Happiness will be yours again and you are not alone!
R.e.m. - Everbody Hurts Lyrics
When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone, when you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on. Don't let yourself go, everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes.
Sometimes everything is wrong. Now it's time to sing along. When your day is night alone, (hold on, hold on) if you feel like letting go, (hold on) when you think you've had too much of this life, well hang on.
Everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends. Everybody hurts. Don't throw your hand. Oh, no. Don't throw your hand. If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone
If you're on your own in this life, the days and nights are long, when you think you've had too much of this life to hang on.
Well, everybody hurts sometimes, everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes. And everybody hurts sometimes. So, hold on, hold on. Hold on, hold on. Hold on, hold on. Hold on, hold on. (repeat & fade) (Everybody hurts. You are not alone.)

My wife and I led our first official marriage class last night. It went pretty smooth for the first one. All seven couples seemed enthusiastic about the material and had done their homework
Teaching this material is fun and between my wife and I, we can pretty much trump and issues that others have had. I think that in itself is huge. Often times people view marriage classes and seminars as taboo. I think this is even more true in the "religious" arena. People are afraid how they will look if it got out that they were attending a (God forbid) marriage class. I mean what would the ladies group say.
Right off the bat Lisa and I share our story with them and I think it put the class at ease. Just because we are leading the class doesn't mean we didn't, don't or won't have marriage problems. They see that we're normal people just like them, that want a better marriage.
Seeing Dr. Harley's work through this site has been amazing but I anticipate seeing it first hand will be overwhelming.
That's pretty much it...I'm just excited.
God Bless

That is absolutely wonderful.
You have really shown what Rom 8:28 can mean.
Just keep giving God the glory.
