RIF, words cannot express how much your kindness and prayers have meant to me. i feel too choked up to say type much more than that. i wish my H would of given contacting you a chance. i do believe you it would help him.
thank your words of kindness and hope and encouragement. you have definitely impacted this person's life by your example.

RIF, I don't think I've ever met a more optimistic, kindler, gentler giant than you. Your simple wisdom has given us optimism in the most dismal of situations we've been through. How do you say thank you? And like any real hero, the reason for doing this all is not for praise, it's just your way of giving back and saying thanks yourself for being in the place you are today. And physically, in the place you'll be in a day or two--where you belong with your girls.

Well, the time is winding down quickly here... we manifest for our flight in about 5.5 hours and should fly out of here some time tomorrow (Monday) afternoon. We'll go to Kyrgyzstan and sit around for a day, then catch the rotator flight from there back to the states. I'll be at our de-mob station for a couple of days, then it's back home to Mrs. RIF and our girls! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> This has been a very hard year for our family, but we've all done well... <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. I'll be back in a week or so and will give everyone an update... I wish all of you the best... I know that many of you are dealing with some difficult situations.... I'll be praying for all of you. I wanted to bump this thread after a half decade. My friend RIF has since served his family AND the free world by his service in civil rescue after Katrina then by re-enlisting for the Middle East. All the while his prayers and gentle wisdom was available to all who cared to listen. Now such great support for military marriages.... RIF you will be embarrassed by this, because you are an unassuming man, but I want the MB world to know I consider you a giant amongst us, and a role model for me as a man. Proud to call you friend, sir. Don't forget you're taking us bass fishing when you get home, kay ?  Blessings upon you RIF.
