[color:"red"][b] I give computer lessons from my home so this is pretty easy for me. Um, easy as long as it is questions for advanced beginner teachers.(that is what I am, not a technically smart computer person!) NOPE I'M NOT ONE OF THOSE.
So if any of you have any questions at all about 'posting' (not about marriage~lol~) I would love to try and help.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
[color:"blue"][b]It is really quite EASY to add color.
[color:"orange"]Before writing your messages put this, if you want color:
[color:"purple"] But with NO spaces in between. (Use the bracket, the word color, the : and the color name, then bracket again.)
[color:"green"]For bold, just put [ b ](no spaces) and to stop bold use this after what you want in bold type. [ /b] (no spaces).
[color:"indigo"]I put [ b ] at the beginning of this message, right after the color so the entire message is in bold, even though I keep changing colors.
[color:"hotpink"]I had to show spaces or the symbols to use, wouldn't show up when I posted my message.
[color:"red"]For italics, use [ i ] (no spaces) and to stop the italics [ /i] (no spaces)
[color:"darkorchid"] For underlining [ u ] (no spaces) and to stop the underlining [ /u] (no spaces)
[color:"mediumblue"] The colors I used were blue, orange, purple, green, indigo, hotpink, red, darkorchid & mediumblue. (teal & gold below)
[color:"teal"] HAVE FUN...it takes your mind off your troubles for awhile.
[color:"gold"]Love, Julie

[color:"blue"]If anyone would like to experiment adding color or whatever, please feel free to use this thread as a 'Practice Thread'.
Maybe you want to try adding a reply for the first time (along with editing.) I almost ALWAYS make a spelling error and have to edit.
This will be a good Place to Practice.

[color:"purple"]I tried clicking on that color box but felt it was about as simple to just add the code.
I think we have to highlight our message first, then click on the color in the box if you do it that way; only thing is, I keep getting the codes at the END of my message and that doesn't work.
I must be doing something wrong SO I just type [color:" purple"] at the beginning and viola'. How do you get the 'codes' in the right place???

[color:"navy"]Hi Hiker. Your post made me smile to see you being 'whimsical' with your colors....
Wasn't sure what you meant about not being able to see all the posts like in the old days. (Previous message board.)
Maybe you mean there are only a few on the page? I had that problem for awhile and had to do this:
Go to 'My Home' Click on 'Display Preferences' and then 'Edit'
There is a place that says 'Total posts per page' Change that to '30'
And while your are at it, make your skin (background) a pretty color...mine is 'the blues' and I know instantly that I am logged on...If I go through Internet Explorer, my pages are just white.
Then click on 'submit' and you are all set.
(This probably isn't even what you were asking.)
Well, it is about my bedtime. Good night everyone, Julie

"Im just trying to figure out how to use the quote feature." [color:"mediumblue"]Hi Cards. Here is what you will need to do. Have the quote you want, copied. (In case anyone doesn't know how to 'copy', just highlight what you want to copy, go up to the top task bar and click on 'Edit' and then you have it ready to 'Paste'.) Ok, Cards, next click on 'Quote'...What you have to do is 'Paste' your message between the codes. [ quote] message goes right here [ /quote] (Anyone just learning to 'copy and paste', you will go back to the top to 'Edit' and then click on 'Paste'...so easy.) Hope it works for you, Cardsonly. I am sure it will. Like anything in life, once you know you know. Give it another practice run here. How do you hypertext link to a different web page? I would like to use a highlighted word to take someone to a different page, but don't know how.

[color:"brown"][b]Hiker and Faithful, you are SILLY and that is good! [color:"navy"]'Sleepless', I would be glad to tell you how to post a link and name it anything you want. One word or lots of words. As an example, I am going to copy the link from the message I posted earlier by Star*fish, a message of HOPE. Here is what you do. 1. Copy the web address from the site or thread you want to post. 2. Click on URL right below this place we type messages in. 3.A box will pop up that says http:// Paste the site address in that box. (sometimes it has the http:// double so erase one of them.) This is the address I pasted into the box: http://www.marriagebuilders.com/ubbt/sho...;page=1#2691079 4.Then it will say in the box WEB PAGE, erase that and name it whatever you want, then click on OK.That's it, it should be there. I usually click on 'preview post' to make sure it worked. Star's Story of Hope. If you haven't read the above message, take a few moments to read it. It is very inspiring; what 'Star' did to find happiness. Sincerely, Julie

[color:"navy"]Sleepless...if the above answer wasn't answering exactly what you meant, how about this:
[b] title
"This makes the given title into a hyperlink pointing to other link." (I found that answer in a search, NOT from my head!)

That's good Julie. I wasn't sure what kind of computer geek would be able to do that off the top of their head. Of course I can rattle other really geeky stuff off the top of my head, but nothing relevant for this site,
Thank you!
