OK, we’re guys and we like to eat.
BSs, FBSs, FWSs - we probably found ourselves eating a LOT more of our own cooking at some point.
Maybe we discovered some really good guy recipes to share.
I’ll start -
WAT’s baked sweet potatoes!
Yep, these taters can be real “queens” on the ole taste buds! Wash ‘em down with a cold brewski and you're living right!
Get some good and fat sweet taters at the store, and pick up a six - or another six.
Ice the six and pre-heat the oven to somewhere between 350 - 500, it doesn't really matter. - you don’t need to pre-heat a microwave in case that’s your tool of choice.
Rinse off the taters in the sink, stick ‘em with a fork a couple of times, and then spread ‘em out on a big baking pan or anything else with a sheet of foil to lessen the cleanup later.
Slap ‘em in the oven and open another brew.
Bake for about two more beers.
When they’re good and mushy, get ‘em out, turn off the oven, and open another brew.
Slice ‘em length wise, spread ‘em apart, and slam some REAL butter in there.
Sprinkle with brown sugar and get started. Be careful, they’re hot.
Are these sweet potato queens, or what????

See bOb - right again!
We try a legit thread for guys - with good, important, useful info and the girls can't resist us.
They're smitten.
Happens every time.
They're all reading from the same script. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />
Just do a search on subject line includes "guys only", and my member number (7367)/user name and you'll see it happens every time.
Now, go see their thread, "OK Ladies" and see the dearth of guy intrusion - my post was clearly a guy warning.
tsk, tsk
Note they even resort to some code-latin to comminicate behind our backs - a feeble attempt to disguise their smittenness.
tsk, tsk, tsk

How 'bout this one...it goes great with dark beer, lager, pils, oh he** it goes with any beer and everybody loves it...
half pound ground sirloin half pound ground pork (or 1 lb of beef total if you prefer) can chopped tomato's with green chili's can of your favorite canned chili no beans (or any leftover chili you have) half pound of shredded colby (or whatever cheeses you like) sour cream green onions sliced jalapeno's dash of red hot (or any hot sauce, adjust to taste) big bag of Frito's dips (or whatever corn chip you like) 1 case of beer (for you and friends or a 6 pack if your eating it with the kiddies)
crisp up the beef and pork, drain fat, add tomatos and simmer for one beer, juice will be gone. add chili and warm through hot sauce to taste put in a tart pan (or something short 2" or so and round) sprinkle cheese on top bake at 400 for 2 beers, or cheese is bubbly, or 2 more beers top with chopped green onions dollop of sour cream and put jalapeno's in side dish chips in a bowl open beer dig in
I'm making it tonight geez that sounds good right now. Cheap, delicious and no leftovers.
"Who are you" said the Caterpillar This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation.
Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present...At least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."

You're right, WAT. As soon as I saw the title I was irresistably drawn to read it, and compelled to post. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> One of my favorite super-easy dishes is Tater Tot Casserole.
Just stir up one bag of Tater Tots, either with Campbell's nacho cheese soup concentrate (DO NOT ADD WATER), or just plain cheese soup concentrate with a little salsa added, and bake till it's turning nice and brown on top. Sorry, I don't drink so I don't know how many beers that is. You'll just have to check it.
Bob, it sounds like you're the type of sick person who would make this and grate more cheese over the top. Only do that if your arteries are so clogged a little more cholesterol can make no difference.

LOL WAT !
BTW I never ate a sweet potato in my life. Not big in the UK. We call 'em yams I think.
Easy guy grub for me is either a stir fry or chilli N cheese corned beef hash.
Boil peeled taters with a chopped onion, a smashed clove of garlic and a pinch of salt.
After 20 mins of so, drain water off, heave in a knob of butter and a splash of full fat milk and mash up GOOD.
When almost creamy break in a half pound of corned beef, some chopped, flash fried ( or preferably BAKED in salt!) habanero peppers and a splash or two of tabasco sauce to taste.
Sprinkle grated cheese on top and grill till its crispy.
Eat with LOTS of buttered bread mmmm. Corned beef hash sandwiches.....me and the kids LOVED that as 'moms gone crazy, lets eat quick and cheap' food.

WAT, I love sweet potatoes sliced and lightly fried in just a touch of butter. No calories to speak of and very tasty.
Here is something for you to try.
Take a flat cookie sheet. Cover it in plain saltine crackers. On top of each cracker, place a single normal size marshmallow.
Set the oven to broil.
Put the goods in the oven. Watch the marshmallows carefully. As soon as the tops turn medium to dark brown, take them out of the oven.
The marshmallows will flatten to cover the cracker as they cool. Eat while warm, but avoid the hot ones :-)

You start with bacon , any good bacon will do. And the only other ingredient is brown sugar - and do I really need to say the dark brown kind? You just roll the bacon in dark brown sugar and then you bake it at 350 for 20 minutes or so.. Voy-ola! Pig candy. Susan <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
