Hi! I am 24 yrs old, and my H is turning 25 on May 10th. We've been married 3 and a half yrs and have a 2 year old son. I've been extremely depressed recently (I am diagnosed with bipolar II). I am having trouble thinking of what to do for my H on his upcoming bday. I am 6 hrs from my family and friends and have no help with babysitting . . . not to mention not in the best financial state. My H is very quiet & likes watching sports and playing a few as well. He is a great father and wonderful husband! Other than that I couldn't really tell you any of his hobbies . . . any suggestions??? Please help!

Don't know if this'll work for you, but here's what I did:
I've got a huge selection of music on the computer, most of it from our own CD collection but some I got free in the latest iTunes/Pepsi giveaway (the spouse loves Diet Pepsi!). I'm planning on getting him an iPod Shuffle, but we don't have the money yet. So I burned a selection of songs I know he likes on a CD and gave it to him as an "iPod Shuffle Preview Disk", sort of like you can get giveaway sampler disks at some record stores. He really got a kick out of it, especially with some of the songs I selected (some rock, some funk...we've both got eclectic tastes).
If your computer has a CD burner, you can do the same thing. If he's been talking about getting active, put some upbeat music on it and call it his workout set; if he has a stressful job, you can put some mellower stuff together and call it the "Cooldown Suite" or something.
Aack...just reread and saw the birthday was back in May! So, what did you do? Maybe you can give others some ideas?

My man used to play racquetball frequently. In his case a bag filled with the items that wear out such as balls, gloves, shorts, shirts etc. would be a thoughtful thing. I would pick your hubby's sport and and make a basket or bag filled with items. Maybe even some coupons for time out to do his sport.
I would suggest checking around and finding a reliable babysitter that you can exchange with. Having that time together is important!

Please stay on your medication! Never, ever, ever assume you are better and no longer need it.
Seriously.
As for a B-Day idea. I would get a sitter for 4-6 hours or so.
Dress up in a sports jersey (his favorite team and his jersey when you are done with it) with delicious looking panties and bra. Gotta wear sox too, heh trust me.
Surprise him when he comes home with a cake/candles, dinner, your sexy outfit. Have him eat, then bathe him, then rub him down then if he hasn't gotten the clue yet ask him if he would like his present (the jersey). Then give it to him.
*Ahh the good old days of a wife who puts forth the effort.
