Ok....my STBX was supposed to pick our son up yesterday from school and it was his weekend. I called to talk to my son and my STBX says he doens't have him....he was still at school.....anyway...we went round and round about how this was his weekend and our son was looking forward to being with his dad. I had to get off the phone because I was becoming very aggitated. He said he would think about what he was going to do and call me back....never called back. I ended up calling him hours later.....he said our son could stay with him for the weekend only if he could stay with him at his girlfriends house. UUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I didn't think I could get any angrier than I was at that moment. I told him absolutely NOT and that I guess I will have him again this weekend. He chose OW over our son. I am so angry. How can he even begin to think that our son wants to be over there? My son had a game last night also and during the whole game our son didn't talk to his dad very much at all......later in the evening when his dad called to tell him good night my son acted like he was asleep so he didn't have to talk to him. I'm going to call mylawyer first thing Monday morning. Is there anybody living in Florida that knows if there is anything I can do about keeping my son away from OW at least until DV is final? I'm so angry right now....

I do not live in Florida.
But I have somthing to say anyway !
When you speak with your attorney, ask about having a provision in the final agreement where your H PAYS FOR ~and~ attends some divorce therapy/family counseling for your son.
Make this a mandatory part of the agreement. You boy is going to need some help, and your H is acting like a completely selfish jerk. This needs to be addressed in such a way that causes your STBXH pause to think about what he is doing ... and helps your boy at the same time.
Some FAMILY counseling, paid for BY your STBXH and your boy gets to talk about his feelingas in front of both his parents with an advocate for HIM to structure the therapy.
That's my advice, Floridian or not.
Please take time to breathe slowly and compose yourself ... this is going to be a very long frustrating process, and you will have to come up with some self strategy to get yourself through it without imploding or exploding ... so might as well begin NOW learning how to deal with such stupidity and selfishness without YOURSELF becoming unglued.
Peace~~~
Pep

Tree, your WH's choices have been wrong for a very long time. Sorry for this latest let down. Sooner or later, unfortunately, OW will feature more and more in your son's life. It's horrible how we are forced to accept the unacceptable. Hope your new friendship is blossoming. TT.

Thank you so much Pep. I will most definitley talk to my lawyer about the counseling. I just don't knkow how I'm going to deal with this whole thing. I'm so angry insdie about it. I'm going to try to calm down. I did call my mom a few minutes ago and talk to her. She was trying to help me through this. It's so frustrating. I feel so bad for my son. He just wants to have his old dad back and doesn't want to be around OW. He has made that VERY clear to me. My STBX just ignores our son's feelings on the issue. SELFISH! I can't believe he has truened out to be such an awful person.

Sorry to hear its taken that turn... That was the thing that really put me over the deep end too. In my case though she didn't even tell me just one weekend when I was out of town she decided it would be a good idea to introduce the kids to the OM. GRRRRR! It still makes me mad.
I don't really know what else to say, other than try to keep your cool. Its his relationship he's ruining with his son, and there may be nothing you can do about it. Some people are just intent on destroying a good thing. Be there for your son so he at least knows he has one parent he can turn to.
Hang in there,
Miker

Thanks Miker! I know it will be extremely hard for me when my son meets OW. I dread that day!!!! I'm trying very hard to relax and trying not to get to upset about things.....very hard!!! My son is not going to be happy when he meets this woman and it will most definitely have an affect on the realtionship with his father.
