Orchid said: I disklike what's her name about the same as Juilia Roberts who BTW even though she has twins she still is an OW in my books. M/b legimiately married but emotionally still carries the traits that created the OW in her.

What is this about Julia? I know about Brad and Angelina, but . . . Julia, too? Good grief!!! Et tu, Julia?

SS, If I remember correctly, Julia's new H was married when they started dating, and left his wife for Julia. This happened 2-3 years ago and there was a thread about it here.

Argh! That is HORRIBLE! I had NO idea.

And I just realized WHY I didn't know about her, but I know full well about Angelina ~ because when it had happened with Julia, it hadn't happened to me yet. Now, I am aware of what pain is inflicted, what heartache, and how long it takes to get over and become yourself again.

Wow. No wonder infidelity is such an epidemic! Nobody really pays attention until it happens to them, me included.

hmm I got curious too so did a google search

Turns out Danny was still married when him and Julia hooked up and when his ex Vera wouldn't give him a divorce as she wanted to work on the marriage, Julia wore a t-shirt publicly that said A Low Vera. Also Julia and Danny were married 5 weeks before the divorce was actually final!!!

Vera calls Julia a husband stealer which it seems she is!

How r u doing?

I am very well, thank you!

You know, when I first came here, I remember reading star*fish's sig line, basically saying that if we come to MB looking for change, we better be prepared to change ourSELVES. I was in so much turmoil and chaos when I first came here, I didn't fully understand what that meant.

I do now. My current life is almost unrecognizable, to me. Others might see it the same, but it is soooo different. And it is because of this site. I give myself credit for searching it out, reading the books, and listening and implementing the GREAT advice I received ~ but this site has been wonderful.

Thank you for all the guidance/support/encouragement you have given me for over the past year. My H and I are in Recovery, we went to MC for over 8 months and learned how to communicate effectively. I am not angry about the A anymore ~ in fact, DAYS go by without me thinking about it at all anymore! I know I am on the road to forgiveness with both my FWH, and the OW/FBF.

How is Hawaii treating you? What is the housing like there? I know that sounds like a strange question, but . . . I thought I wanted to move to Australia a while back, but when I looked at the houses for sale there, I didn't think I could live in them. They are so different! I also heard the Hawaii has a lot of roaches. Yuck. Is this true?

SS,

Good to hear you and your H are doing well.

As for HI, well we all have those critters and a few others but in my area, they are a rarity. We have 2 fridges so even things like flour, sugar and bisquick are put in the fridge.
No food items are left out.

Geckos are the common visitors and our son always asks to keep them. Landlord says no pets so I have an easy answer. LOL!! I saw a toad a few weeks ago but only one and he hopped away. Was he a WS from down the road? LOL!!

Today was my 1st day off in over 7 weeks. We went to the beach and even saw a few sea turtles close to shore. We also stopped at a quaint town called Haleiwa and had lunch. The line at the shave ice store was sooo long, each time we drove by we wanted to stop but didn't have the patience to wait in that line. LOL!!!

What about the Aussie houses? In our area houses are outrageous. We are in a nice home but not top of the line and certainly not worth the supposed 500K+ they claim.

Yummmmmmmm! Matsumoto's shave ice! Did you get one with the ice cream in the middle? I love the shave ice but never thought I'd like the ice cream until I got one by mistake. Ono!

It's a good thing you're talking about this in the spring. If it was winter in my area and cold, gray and bleak, I'd be sooooooo depressed. I know just where you were in Oahu. The North Shore is one of my favorite places on earth. Ah, the gentle breezes, nice beaches and sea turtles.

It sounds like you had a wonderful day!

Wow, how interesting to live in such a different area of the world! Your geckos are like the stray cats that dart out of my garage at night when I shut it! I remember when I lived in Kentucky many years ago, I was driving at night to Subway for a sandwich, and what appeared to be a HUGE RAT (like, thick tail and all, white, ugh) ran across the road in front of me. I felt silly telling my neighbor, thinking she'd think I was NUTS (I was about 8 months pregnant, and H was deployed somewhere), but I HAD to share what I'd seen. I mean, this "rat" was as large as a dog ~ as long as a big dog, like a Retriever, with short legs, and that nasty long tail. It was an Opposum! The things they ate on the Beverly Hillbillies! It was so strange.

Ah, I would love to see that. We went to the National Aquarium on our recent trip to Maryland, and I saw a sea turtle ~ he was missing an "arm." We watched him munch on lettuce underwater, a man in scuba gear feeding him. It was so cool!

What about the Aussie houses?

Well, first off, I have to admit I didn't look very hard. AND, I had no CLUE what area to look in. But what my random search netted, was an overall feeling of . . . just DIFFERENT.

Like, when we lived in Germany, we learned that the homes there don't usually come with "kitchens." Kitchens are purchased over there, to go in the homes. Not bad, just different.

When I looked at the Aussie homes, almost each one I saw had air conditioners in the windows, so no central heat and air. And the rooms were set up really weird, in almost each house I looked at, and I was looking at houses in our price range.

Of course, that is the other "flaw" in my search, I have no idea what my H's job would pay over there. I was going off what he makes here in Idaho. So, I might have been looking at "upper-middle class," or "ghetto," or right where I should have been looking.

I guess I am not fully motivated to move there, if I will let such little things deter me. My mom is in a nursing home here, about 2 miles from my house. So, until/unless something changes that, I can't see myself going very far away.

Since the property value seems more than just outrageous, are the salaries compensatory out there? I know in CA, they pay more, because the houses are so much more. Is it like that in HI?

Hey SS,

Never realized that I didn't answer you waaay back when..... as to your question about salaries.... well they are much lower than CA but the cost of living is comparable. That is why sooo many families here are struggling. I swear it is the WS making a killing out here. LOL!!!

Now as for Mz Roberts.....those tabloid tell that her and her D are having a 'few problems'..... do I believe the tabloids? Well for once, I'd like to.
