-ol' 2long You shouldn't play with my squirrel death wish feelings like that, I am a delicate flower of doom that only seeks to avenge the many evil doings those furry creatures have bestowed upon me in many a ocassion.

I want to come! I want to come! I want to see the stars with Coach and 2long in Hollywood! It sounds like fun...
Just got back from stepson's college graduation in Santa Cruz. Too tired to go anywhere.

I mean real stars, in the sky. Not Hollywood stars.

You know how people say that animals know when earthquakes are coming?
Not our cats!!!!
I just got a cup of coffe after the house stopped shaking, and there was our calico sitting on the outside of the window sill outside the kitchen, waiting for me 2 come out and feed them.

Maybe the cats instictively 'know' which ones are the ones to run cover from and which ones are just a small shake.

TMCM Or maybe this one particular cat is just earthquake early warning challenged. Get a new one, this one's broken!

The birds in San Diego can tell. I feed the sparrows everyday. This morning before the shaking, they stopped coming to the feeder. I even pulled it apart to see if the seed was rotten or something. Shortly after, I felt the earthquake. Said to my roommate that it felt like about a 5.5.
I'm very conscious of quakes, because the place I work is only rated for a 7.3 earthquake. And it is 8 stories high.

And we have the audacity to use the terms 'bird brained' for morons when it seems that birds know better than we do [maybe THEY use the term 'human brained' to describe morons ]

Was Sad - I guess you can't really tell unless you are at the epicenter. I've been through lots of earthquakes - in Seattle, Alaska, the Bay Area. So I know what a larger one feels like.

I know what you mean... Around here, it must have been a 3 or so, tops. The sash weights didn't even rattle in the walls like they do when it's bigger than a 3.
I wasn't 2 worried, though. This house has been through a lot worse over it's 118 years.

2-Long - I always keep up with your story, but don't often post to you. I just enjoy watching the next installment.
Hope you weren't working on the roof after a couple of cool ones.

No, I was downstairs posting 2 MB!
2day, it's installing the chair rail in the upstairs bathroom. Got the window framed yes2rday, and it looks awesome! I wish my W could see it and appreciate it. She'll see it next month when she's due back, I suppose.
Sometimes she appreciates what I do around here, but there's always the undertone of placating me at the same time.

2-long -
Glad to hear that you weren't up on the roof again. Sounds like you are really fixing the place up nice. I think your wife will appreciate it.
Working on a house is relaxing to me. I enjoy it. Working with your hands gives you an instant sense of accomplishment.

Can't remember if you ever saw pic2res of my DD's wedding in March. The wedding was in the garden at the house (but the reception was at the Castle Green in Pasadena). email me at **edit**, and I'll send you the Earl if you haven't seen them (and want 2).
My W left a phone message for me while I was in the shower. I didn't see it until she'd called again. I picked up. She was concerned about the house after the quake, and I assured her that things were okay. She's taking some s2dents 2 Bryce 2day.
Hm... Since she left Friday morning, she's called me something like 8 times. I think I've answered about 3 of those times.
Usually it's no more than once a day (since d-day). Before d-day, we'd go days or even a week or so without calling one another when we were gone. I got blamed for that, of course.
Got stuff 2 do.
