Hello,
This is my first post, and really my first venture out into this world asking for advice.
My wife, of three years, and I have had a rough time of it so far. We married right after graduating from college, and rushed to get married at that time because of our situation. I think we both would have liked to have more time at that point.
Anyway, she and I argue quite often, and I lose my temper pretty badly a few tmes a month. She is very conservative politically and religiously, and I am somewhat on the liberal side of things. This is generally what our arguments center around - religion or politics. Religion is very important to both of us, as she holds it very near, and I work full time in the church (as a musician). At times, I have thought about moving out of our apartment, but never have actually done it. We never actually resolve any of our arguments . . .
Our relationship has been a rollercoaster. Sometimes I really want to leave her, and other times I feel as if I'm just being selfish that I'm not having my needs met. I'm still physically attracted to her, which may be the biggest reason that I haven't left.
A few days ago, she was in a car accident. She wasn't hurt, but here's the problem - my first reaction after she called me on the phone wasn't "are you ok?", but rather "how bad is the car?" If this is the woman that I am to spend the rest of my life with and eventually have children with, this really seems messed up to me.
Needless to say, this is distressing me, because I wonder if this is an indication about how I really feel about her.
Thanks!
