I looked for you today.
It was early in the morning when the dawn chased away the darkness.
I thought I saw you ride in on the morning rays that fell upon my bed.
It so seemed like you as you had danced throughout my dreams last night.

I looked for you today.
When I headed out with coffee in hand and set out for a long early drive into the country;
I knew you sat beside me taking in the scenery as the music played in the car we both know.


I looked for you today.
Up and down the aisles filling my cart with groceries;
I knew I’d see you in the produce.
Or for sure we’d meet in the checkout line.
Maybe on my way back out dodging cars in a crowded parking lot.

I looked for you today.
With every song and every step and every breath and every thought I knew I’d hear your voice.
And when I returned home to an empty house I laid down to nap.
I knew then I’d find you there in my dreams again because
I looked for you today.
