I have had trouble loggin in since the change to the new server. Now that all is fixed I wanted to say hi.

I've missed everyone. I have been lurking a little but was really busy with school and frustrated with log in problems. I finished this semester on the presidents list..YEAH and was accepted for this fall's ultrasound program. DOUBLE YEAH <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I worked hard for this, something my dysfunctional marriage prevented me from obtaining 25 years ago.

My new career and a life on my own independent of a man. The man is still in my life and we are still planning on being married when I am done school but my career and life are not dependent on him, he is supportive and loving, the way it was intended to be. Life post divorce is so much better than the abusive situation I was in. I never thought I would be able to say that.

My oldest graduated from college Saturday with a Masters degree!!! 2 middle are in college and my baby will be in college this fall. Graduation was good in spite of X and Xmonster-in-law being there. Daughter insisted that we all sit together, and although we did, it was strained, but I got through it. My fiance was there, but x's girlfriend was not invited as per my son.

X is being married July 30th, pool party/barbeque...I guess it will be a sponge Bob theme again..LOL. XB-I-L says he is not flying across country for a fiasco/drunken pool wedding. Funny, X kept telling me that X B-I-L didnt come to our wedding because his bro knew "I was beneath him". He actually had started a new job across country and couldnt leave. X B-I-L and his wife have still remained a great source of support for me through these past couple of years.

I see there is a new forum for after divorce so I will probably jump over there for the most part. I hope all is well with everyone.
Smiles,
Dawn

Green Gables, how are you?

I have to learn how to navigate this new forum and find out what has been going on

Hey, chick-o-la! Welcome back! We were beginning to wonder when you'd make it to this party (heehee).

Since you and I had such similar X's and such similar stories, I just wanted to re-state what you already said: Life post-divorce is SO MUCH BETTER than an abusive situation.

If you remember, I was enduring emotional and verbal abuse about every 3rd day, plus multiple affairs and mental illness...it was almost a greek tragedy for crying out loud! Now, my life is like paradise in comparison. I got to know myself again...I got to know my children...I got to have a voice without fear of reprisal...and eventually I got my own life and (like you) a new man in my life who is there by choice and not out of fear or abuse. YAY!!

I missed ya, sunrise. You're like my soul-sis!
