OK, I have a big confession to make here tonight. I confess to doing the unthinkable..................... I watched American Idol tonight and even felt nervous as they announced the winner.............WTF is wrong with me. Someone shoot me. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

Now I am about to get sickly here but...I love watching unashamedly American stuff like American Idol ! I guess theres just as much cynicism underlying the event in teh US as there is in the British talent shows but it seems so "motherhood and apple pie" its a pleasure to watch ! And some of the talent is great too. Last years winner, Fantasia Barrino had a truly breathtaking voice. This year, Bo Bice is a nice guy & I'd pay up to thirty dollars to see his band any friday night. But he ain't exactly Chris Robinson is he ? More of a modern day Ronnie Van Zandt. Not that theres anything wrong with that ! I was a big Skynrd fan, and still love southern boogie. Carrie's a big boned farm girl and a bit of an 'in tune shouter' but seems so wholesome its no wonder she won ! Its harmeless entertainment ! OMIGOD Let me just say, well, you probably all watch Survivor too! I HATE that stuff. But, on the flip, i LOVE mindless sitcoms -just as bad. Oh, and Spongebob. ...And 3rd Rock repeats..and never mind. No point here, besides on the top of my head.

I myself don't get much into the AI thing....or any TV shows for that matter.
I don't even really remember the last time I sat down and watched a full episode of anything.....except for Spongebob or Fairly Odd Parents.

LM - I live in Hong Kong and all my friends are addicted. Doctors, lawyers, teachers, CEO's, engineers etc etc are rushing home to watch that show. You are in good company. I, however, would never sink that low! TT

lemonman...I admit I watched too. I loved the music as it was from my era...Lynard with Sweet Home Alabama..On Broadway..etc. I'm not sure the right one won but Bo will get a good recording contract so I guess it really didn't matter that much.
Other admissions on my part...I watched Survivor and Apprentice and loved both... Ok it's out there...I said it...I like to think I'm a television snob but that's only in my dreams. And the worst of the worst...I enjoy an occasional Judge Judy. See, there are those who are worse..much worse!
