I agree with weisguy on this. Nothing else could be said that would make the point any clearer.
terri, As for the article you posted, it was very thought provoking. I really related to it and it helped me feel more "normal" that my STBXWH, who moved out 4 1/2 years ago with NC for over 3 years, is still taking up so much space in my head. I still feel emotionally damaged from the A and it's aftermath. And I still have many of the same shortcomings that contributed to the demise of my M, though I've spent the last 4 years working on identifying and addressing them, but it's a frustratingly slow process.

I just read an article lately about narcissists online. Apparently some people get a kick out of presenting themselves as the all knowing wise one and draw the rest of the honest posters into senseless bickering and debate.
Sir50s statements indicate that he writes the way that does deliberately. Therefore he deliberatle chooses to be pendantic, superior, and insulting.
Another noteworthy habit is his lack of references to his claimed resources. When has he posted a link to the paraphrased opinions of those all knowing gurus that lend him his valuable keys to his arguments. He has refused to accept webster's definition of promiscuity, instead claiming that he can use the word as he his defines it. What is that if not the epitomy of a grandiose superior narcissistic nature?

While we are on the subject of narcissism.... Don't forget this one http://www.lingsoft.fi/~reriksso/competence.htmlI'm not pointing fingers or implying anything with this article. I found it when looking for stuff about my WWXW. It is her to a tee.... You all may see something in it as well, I thought of my WWXW as a narcassist too but after looking into this study I came away with a whole new perspective amd outlook... After everything we had been through this study ended up being the tipping point for me. You can find the full study results online, I just wanted to pass along a synopsis of the study. The typical argument of the blissfully incompetent goes like this.....I've never been wrong, If I ever was (which isn't possible) and you point it out, your wrong for doing so because I've never been wrong, If I ever was (which isn't possible) and you point it out, you're wrong for doing so because I've never been wrong ....and around and around the merry-go-round goes... Sound familiar to anyone? RebornMan

Knight's responses, extensive use of ellipses, and ability to give me a headache when reading his posts remind me of a troll who's been here before---but my brain has put his former alias in the dustbin. You may remember the guy; his wife was here too and he was having an affair.
Now---it might not be the same person, but I think it wouldn't hurt for the admins to check IP addresses and find out. Yes, his posts remind of me of SNL also.

Interesting. I've asked around of some MB friends to figure out the username of the forum participant to whom you are referring, and I've researched the old posts of said participant, comparing them to this one. The writing style and attitude is virtually identical. This has been passed on.
And it would explain A LOT.

More interesting that both times he was compared to the old familiar poster (snl), he didn't deny or defend himself, or ask what we were talking about.....

I wouldn't even have swung into this thread had it not been written by terri... Hi to you both (and any other oldtimers...), and hope things are going well. I take a quick swing around here every year or so, just to check and see what some of you are up to. (Still emailing Maya on occasion, as well)

I know my style tends to the pedantic, and this has occasionally caused me to wonder if I come across as arrogant. So...
Somebody please tell me if I ever come across as "condescending and patronizing" as knight50. No. Not a chance. Not on the same planet. Not. Not. I submit that most people who actually want to communicate attempt to do so in a way which will not close the ear of the hearer. Hear hear. As a Rhetoric major, I totally agree with you. Even those not skilled at communicating recognize when others are put off and try to remedy the situation. Unless they are terribly arrogant or worse. There is a huge difference between basing one's identity on how one is perceived, and taking reasonable measures to earn the respect of others - in part by showing respect for others. It is the lack of respect and condescending attitude that sent me elsewhere rather than having any further engagement. I see no point debating someone who is only listening to himself and only trying to justify himself. Been there, done that - and he was called "Husband"... IBTW - interesting thoughts about who this poster may have been in a former (recent) life. Especially considering current stated attitudes...

And especially since current stated attitudes seem to have an interesting take on cheating... as if it was somehow excusable under the "right" circumstances...

Interesting isn't it? Interesting that our "new friend" hasn't decided to say anything about this?
As much as this guy likes to tell everyone their shortcomings, and how "well-trained" in research he is supposedly....
You would think he would have done a little searching to see who SNL was, if it isn't him. If it isn't him, with his attitude you'd think he would be really upset he was being associated with a character like SNL.
I don't know, the silence is deafening and I am putting my vote in now....
Without further proof of anything different, the style of writing, the holier than thou crap, the excusability of certain cheating, I say Knight is SNL.
Just my 2 cents Terri....

I've noted exactly the same thing, so I'm right behind you on this one ... and my vote is the same.
