Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share with you that our little one is finally here. I went in on wednesday night to be induced but I was having contractions every 3 mins, so they broke my water. Then I was 3 cms, that was at 7:40. So we went walking and around 9 we came back but I was still at 3 cm yet my contractions were intense. So they wanted to give me a epidural which I wanted. Well it only numbed the left side and because of that, the "window" on the right was 2 times stronger with pain. So they pulled it out again and did another one. It worked for about an hour and then all the sudden, I could feel on my right and then on my LEFT!!!!! I was in tears because they gave me petosen(sp?) and I guess I didn't expect that much pain. So At 3 I was still at 4 cms and they told me that they would have to give me a c section. Now, I wanted to hold him and have him but surgery scares me just a little bit. So at 3:23, we have our little boy weighing in at 9 pounds 2 ounces, 21 inches long. I was just in shock when they brought him over and STILL can't believe he is mine. The pain from the c section is a little much to bare. I got to come home yesterday and its VERY hard to get up and down. But I love you soooooooo much! I have a website but I need to upload his pics and I will post that if anyone wants to see our newest arrival!

CONGRATUALATIONS!! WELCOME TO OUR WORLD, CAYDEN MICHAEL!

My oh my, that's one large young man you brought into the world! Especially for a first baby. Sounds like your labor was one heck of a challenge, but you did it!! Brought a healthy baby into the world regardless of his delivery style!

I, too had a C-section with my first son. And yes, it was painful and uncomfortable. Getting up and down hurt like heck! All of a sudden I developed a much greater appreciation for daily movements I take for granted i.e. walking, bending, sitting. I had to remind myself that a C-section is major abdominal surgery. So take good care of yourself too! Mommy needs to stay healthy and happy! Let Daddy do the lifting and carrying for awhile. You did it for the first nine months of Cayden's life!

And yes, do let us get a glimpse of your new arrival when you have time. (Like there's any spare time for a new mother!) I adore newborn babies!

Congrats, Mommy! Enjoy your time with your precious little one! I don't think anything can truly prepare you for labor -- it isn't until it is happening to you that you find out what you can and can't tolerate. Sounds like you hung in there like a champ and in the end you had your very own little angel! Congrats again to your new addition!

Beth

Congratulations!

I am getting very nervous about delivery now! They told me I have gestational diabetes, and want to measure her soon to see how big she is already. I hope she's not that big! But big babies do run in our family.

Take care of yourself!

Congratulations!!!!

Very sorry that you had a C-section ... If it makes you feel better ... I broke my water at work!
around 10am ... went to the hospital at 8pm just to know that I was only 2 cm dilated
real contraction began at 9pm ... 12 hours later - 9am I was still at 2 cm !!!!
Anyway, I had pitocin and the epidural also 'moved' so there was a time that I was feeling ALL the contractions ... then 32 hours later ... I had fever and low blood pressure so I ended up with a C-Section.

Anyway ... enjoy every second of Cayden!!! Time really goes fast!!!!
And take care of yourself!!!!

sweetie I know how you feel i had a 9lb 12 1/2 oz child they had to take c section after giving me pictocin for 22hours. I begged for a c section about 12hours before they decided to give me one.

for a first child that is a big baby. I did not feel so clumsy with my big babby.
