I was a little reluctant to contine having contact with oc because of all the problems we were having with it. I was no longer going to deal with ow not making up her mind about who oc was going to live with. She finally broke again and did not want to keep him. She signed a statement saying she could not at the time provide for child which my husband gave to the judge. He lives with us and visits with her on the weekend, and I must say so far so good! My piece of advice to anyone in this situation is to document everything it will help in the long run. They are suppose to return to court in July. My husband still pays his child support, but it is being held until final disposition of the case. I have incorporated oc into my family as one of my own. I no longer sweat the small stuff because what is done is done. The only thing I haven't got use to is the look I get when I tell people my daughter and oc are not twins. I love it when I'm told the children look just alike, and then they kind of search my eyes for an explanation. Oh the moments we live through! [color:"red"] [/color] I just tell myself everyone living in this day and age know that everything is a possibility. There is nothing new under the sun I guess. I'm just waiting for the final disposition of this case so that my family and I can move on to better things. Oc is happy and loved and has adjusted fine. He is talking really well, if I can just get him out of diapers life would be so much easier.

I just wanted to give an update. On Friday H and ow went to court for an custody disposition. H has lawyer and ow does not. At this point in time H has temporary custody of oc. Ow stated that she wanted oc to remain in our home during the week and she would get the weekends, but she doesn't want to give up custody. Ow is very unstable and doesn't truly have the means to take good care of oc. The judge did not understand what she wanted and did not feel it would be legally fair for him to make judgement without her having consultation, so he extended court for a month and ordered her to get a lawyer. My H has all rights right now until further notice, so it is not over yet. sigh! The guardian ad litem told the courts that it would be in the best interest of the oc to remain in our home. That was a plus! I will keep you guys updated as much as I can. I can say so far so good for us.
God will never take me through more than I can handle!

I hope the little guy gets to keep his stable home. Hang in there!
I know what you mean about "twins". My dau and OC are 5 days apart, and they don't mind announcing it to everyone.
