Any good restaurant recommendations in Newport News, VA? Preferably one w/ good seafood, a view and a fun, romantic ambiance. I know, I'm asking for the world here. And, we really don't want to drive all the way to Norfolk, as our flight gets into Newport News late and we have to drive out to the Outer Banks 1st thing next day.
Thanks!! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Joe's Crab Shack at the end of Mercury Blvd on the James River...good food and a nice view of the river at night.
Not a lot of restaurants with a view on the Peninsula...have to go to Virginia Beach for that.
Alexander's on the Bay is a good one (in VA Beach), but you have to ask for a "view" table. It is a little on the pricey side, but a nice romantic atmosphere.
There are some nice places in Norfolk (Ghent district) also. Gotta be careful in Norfolk...Ghent is nice, but you have to drive through some "depressed" neighborhood to get there.

A chicken neck on a string, a net, and a bushel basket will get you a great meal. Cheap, too. But throw back the sooks. Requires a lot of beer, though. Any water around those parts will work.

OK, I'm from the Far East and grew up in the South, and you'd think I'd know what you're talking about when it comes to food & eating, but you got me on this one! Ha!

Crabs.
Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs.
I lived on the south side of Tidewater for many years. Never went to dinner in N. News, so this is the best I could do.
