I wanted to post something that was on the local news this morning. A local college student was caught with approximately 1000 bottles of chloral hydrate in his apartment yesterday. What is chloral hydrate? It is a sedative that has been widely available since 1882. It is the main component in the old "Mickey Finns" from the old movies.

It comes in syrup form. It is clear and only has a small taste. The taste can be completely covered up by most alcoholic beverages. Also, alcohol more than doubles its effect. If it is poured in your drink, you will never be able to see it and more than likely will not notice a difference in taste. Within thirty minutes, you will be unable to control many of your main motor functions. Within an hour, you will probably pass out and will not remember anything accept a groggy hungover feeling and some stomach discomfort.

The authorities do not know how many bottles that he started with. He was probably distributing them around the campus. Authorities said it is a controlled substance but you can get unlimited supplies from India if you have the cash. It is a widespread epidenmic around the country.

Ladies, the carefree days of going out on the town and blowing off some steam are over for women. You are being stalked by predators armed with the latest technology that you have NO defenses to. If you have to go out and party, make sure you are with several friends and have a pack that everyone enters the bar together and leaves together. Life just continues to get too dangerous.

Hey Bob,

So, would it be a bad thing to give our wives Sodium Pentothal?? LOL

I figure that's the only way we will ever find out the truth, and even than they probably wouldn't crack!! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm just kidding here folks. I wouldnt know how to find it even if I was serious. Which I'm not . . .

My sister was rescued by a male friend ...

She was at a bar with college friends..left her drink unattended while going to the restroom.

A male friend saw her swaying drunkenly across the dance floor a few minutes later, in the arms of a not so nice man. This change in her was so fast that her friend was very alarmed.

He rescued her from his clutches and took her home. She doesn't remember a thing. She's very lucky to have a had an honorable decent male friend looking out for her, or this story might not have had a happy ending.

I think this is what happened to the American teenager missing in Aruba. I think she'd already been drinking and the boys who picked her up gave her more alcohol with "something" in it. They misjudged the dose and she died from the combination of alcohol poisoning and the drug, and/or she vomited and aspirated. They panicked and dumped her somewhere.

Very sad story, but not a new one. This has been going on for years and years.

This is all mindblowing to me. I did not know about this stuff in college or when I was on the bar-hopping scene. I sure it was around but I just did not hear about it. Also, I was around a lot of guys who would have no problem in using this stuff on a girl sitting at a table next to them. They would have thought it was just part of the game. These are all successful doctors, lawyers and other professionals who are now pillars of their communities. So women do not think that it is just the ugly or uncool guys that would do something like this to you. You had better watch out!!!!

OK. This is a hot button with old NCWalker.

And this is a problem. And you CAN'T predict who these kinds of "men" are just by looking at them.

When I was in college, I was pledged to a fraternity. At a fraternity party I witnessed this going on. One of the brothers was attempting to "take advantage" of a young woman who did not have her wits about her. And I proceeded to beat the crAp out of him. (He wouldn't stop when I asked). And for those of you who don't think violence is a solution, think about that girl being your daughter. What did I get for my efforts? Depledged.

And I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Ladies, keep your wits about you when you go out. Please. Us guys won't walk away from the exchange pregnant. Most of us know this and will act quite irresponsibly. I don't understand why men don't put as much effort into being good men as they do trying to score. They would probably score in a more meaningful way if they did.

HUGE fear I have with STBX. But she is my STBX, not my daughter, and I can't make her choices for her.

Oh, and BTW, I actually DID approach the young lady the next day when she was sober. And I told her what almost happened.

She didn't appreciate it. Gave me a flippant "So, I'm a big girl and I'll do what I want." Didn't even remember it. Poor thing. Wonder why she hated herself so.

ncwalker, you are dead on. Two of the biggest misconceptions that people make are in this vein. Women absolutely refuse to acknowledge that no man wants to be their friend unless the man finds them completely unattractive to him. Every guy knows ths but women will argue you to the death that this is not true. Guys make the mistake of taking everything that a woman says literally. Women tell us not to do this but we still do it all of the time to the detriment of our lives and relationships.
